Music Draft - Rolling Stone Greatest 500 Songs Garbage List - Now with unhealthy regional pork-stuffs! (1 Viewer)

I'm boxed out of a couple of the top remaining sings in this pack unless I want to double down on an artist (I don't) so let's grab another canon classic from my mom's favourite band.

14.08 - Paint It Black - Rolling Stones (#213)
You misspelled favorite.

- Ted Lasso.

I was going to take this, primarily because Floppinho played skins on it a couple years ago in one of his School of Rock gigs.

Ok... I've shamelessly plugged both kids. Let's see what else I've got.

steal.

can't believe it's still out there

there are some really good songs out there ...unfortunately for me - the vast majority of them are in tiers that were already stuffed with goodness and I have already taken something from there.

Lightning Crashes by Live.  And I had always made fun of the dolphins crying in their other song.
Once a semester, we would have a big blowout on campus, called either Fallfest or Springfest, respectively.  They'd book really solid musical acts, free for students, would just be one huge party, usually alternating a rock act and a hip hop act.  All the standard college party fare, the pregaming all that.  My freshman year we had Incubus and Snoop Dogg as headliners.  Sophomore year, we had Kanye for Fallfest, a stop on the Late Registration tour.  It was a spectacle, he brought like half an orchestra.  They were 3-for-3 in my college career.  Who was going to be headlining Springfest 2006?

That's right, you guessed it - Our Lady Peace, with Live as the opener.  I've never seen a more bored crowd at a show than during that Live show.  Who in their right mind thought Live would be a hit with college students in 2006?

Just catching up now I had a ####### awesome day today.  I’m starting a new career as a high school teacher and right now I’m student teaching.  Today I got observed teaching (I need to do this 8x) and it was the first time I ever taught an entire class. I made up this interactive role playing game to play with the kids as part of the lesson and it absolutely killed.  I feel so great right now.*

* I am high too but it’s MOSTLY because of the teaching thing.

 I've spent pretty much the entirety of my children's' lives thinking that One Direction wrote That's What Make "U" So Useful as an original song for Sesame Street as opposed to just re-working That's What Makes You Beautiful.  So suffice it to say, I'm not familiar with Harry's solo work.

U, you are so unique come take a bow;

U, there are udders under that cow;

U, check it out, it's Bert's unibrow

They start with "U", Ooo ooo

U, you know you're so useful!

#140 No Woman No Cry.  Marley

No brainer with what was left......the frat boy anthem, right?  Anyway, I'm actually listening to Marley right now....my wife had Marley playing during child birth with both our kids....the most relaxing protest music ever!

I'm going to have to check out shortly for the evening. I don't know if my picks will come up tonight or not, but would someone mind taking a list from me in case they do?

Gotta grab this one since I could see this grouping start to get picked clean in the next couple rounds and this is my favorite there.  Yo Mama selects:

#300 - Rock Lobster - B-52s

For a song with pretty silly lyrics, this song is an absolute jam.   I’ll now be singing this the rest of the day.

Here comes a stingray
There goes a manta-ray
In walked a jelly fish
There goes a dog-fish
Chased by a cat-fish
In flew a sea robin
Watch out for that piranha
There goes a narwhal
Here comes a bikini whale!
