Gerrard looking poor.
In both games.
at least it will all be Rooney's fault
As it should be ;)
Fo reals. If you think Rooney looked better than Gerrard, you're fooling yourself. Take the Man U glasses off. Rooney looked like ####, except for one play, in each match. Gerrard looked good in the first one, poor in the second. Neither set the world alight, but to focus on Gerrard, and then whine that the blame will go on Rooney is laughable. He fully deserves the criticism.
Relax man, I dont think any of them looked good. Just making a comment on no matter what happens its always Rooney's fault. He could have played lights out and not scored and it would still be his fault.

And I am not saying he shouldnt have blame, just making fun of the overemphasis on 1 player.

ETA esp since that 1 player did get a goal and an assist in 2 games...... :boxing:
Rooney didn't play that poorly. At least in comparison to the rest of the mugs out there. The entire team was flat

He was involved in both goals so at least he has that going for him.

Was that not offside?
He was onside when it hit Gerrard I believe.
Looking at the replay - he was offside when it hit Gerrard. If it never hit the Uruguayan player, he was on-side when the goalie made the initial kick.
It's hard to tell from the replay whether Cavani touched it, but that was obviously the call on the field which is why Suarez was ruled onside.

Nice flick by Gerrard though. That's not easy to do.

Lalas is such a tool. Have a little deference to those who've advanced the sport or at least help make people on a TV set feel comfortable.

Please, in 2018, find somebody else.

I get the feeling Lalas is following the standard ESPN script. Say something stupid so it can be debated, first take style.

But yeah he and twellman can go

Fox is doing all this in 2018 so chances are good Lalas won't be there.

Also good chance the overall broadcast is way worse.

Gerrard found Suarez with vintage Gerrard precision. Unfortunately, neither were playing for Liverpool today.

Woz> you suck
Sorry guys. That damn Uruguayan dude is quick.
What he showed today is why I think he is truly in the conversation with Messi and CRonaldo for best player in the world right now.
And his coach was thinking about leaving him out because he "wasn't totally fit". I think he found out an unfit Suarez is better than 99% of WC strikers who are fit.

ESPN has come a long way since 2006, when the network trotted out a roster of underqualified American announcers and sent huge numbers of fans to go watch games on Univision instead – on the assumption that, if it's going to all be gobblede####, at least it can be a foreign language.
:lmao:

You know I don't even care that this game sucks because there's nothing like having 8 consecutive hours of soccer everyday for 2-3 weeks. Throw in a US win to keep it interesting for the home side and it just doesn't get better than this.

It's been pretty good for about the last 15 minutes.
