Bummer. I kept asking if I was in all of them. Oh well

Yeah and I kept posting Thursday-Friday-Saturday we had Strade Bianche + two races stage starting

  • Strade Bianche - 7 entrants in the contest, not 100% sure if everyone updated their lineup after Trofeo Laigueglia but guess we'll find out tomorrow
  • Paris-Nice - 5 entrants, starts Sunday
  • Tirreno-Adriatico - me & @cheeseypoof, starts Monday

you liked this post back on page 5 @DA RAIDERS

Why don't we give anyone who misses the entry of any event in the Sand's score the lowest score of those participating. I know that creates some manual tracking, but I would really like Jaysus and Raiders motived to compete against us.

Or we could just manually score our best 10 of 12 events. Problem with that is that the scoring is tied to the number of days in the event.

My buddy’s wife is the CEO of our church. She has a great idiom for moments like this.

If you have inspiration for an idea, then God has given you a commission to follow through on it.

IOW, great idea, you should do that!

I’m with @BassNBrew on this. It sucks @DA RAIDERS and @Jaysus aren’t on a level field because they missed signing up for Tirreno-Adriatico.

So if we manually make our own contest consisting of 10 best scores (from the 12 events in the Stage Race Championship series), that gives everyone at least one low score to toss.

We are already doing a manual contest of the 3 Grand Tours for the super secret grand prize donation.

I nominate @BassNBrew and @Sand to maintain a Google drive spreadsheet to track that.

But seriously, we don’t have a commissioner, so let’s all take pieces of it.
  • BobbyLayne & @Jaysus handle any online setup + reminders about Velogames - entry deadlines, post league code, scoring changes, whatever
  • BobbyLayne & @cheeseypoof post scores/standings after a stage or race (I usually do this but should have a backup)
  • @BassNBrew & @Sand setup & maintain online spreadsheets on Google Drive to track the 3 Grand Tours and the best 10 of 12 Stage Race Championship.
  • @DA RAIDERS drives the Lanterne Rouge broom truck.

The only concern I have with point #3 is the various stage races, not including the 3 grand tours, have varying numbers of stages.

In general I’m okay with @BobbyLayne and his recommendations.

yeah that’s why upon reflection the best course might be we should just give the two guys who missed a flat score (average, or throw out the high low & average the middle 3) from Tirreno-Adriatico & be done with it.

Instead of the average score, what about the same score as whomever scores the lowest out of our group? Average score gives them extra points vs a team or two that submitted lineups. Just a thought. I won’t object. if we go with the average.

Fair point

Could make it 10% below average (or something, IDK)

it’s a casual free league, I like winning but it ain’t worth too many calories eh

Jonas looks dead in the post-race... in legit tears. I missed his crash, but he looks very injured. Left wrist maybe?

@BobbyLayne I have a Google Sheets document that I use for my own purposes I can share. I just need an email address to share it. And yes, I have a problem! LOL

Thought about the Stage race and how to get the other guys in. Doing best 10 of 12 is tough due to the difference in points that each race generates. No telling where Paris Nice is in that ehcelon. I'd say give them 5th place of 7 for this race and move on with it.

Cheesy, I can't access that sheet. If you want I can make something for the stage race one and the Grand Tour one.

Ok, go for it. Didn't expect you'd be able to access it without sharing it via email.

Ok.

Stage Race Championship Sheets Link.

I preseeded the first one with some realistic numbers just to make sure it works. I'll pretty it up as we go along. I figure if anyone misses a stage race they'll get a score at 75th percentile, which right now with 7 will be 5th out of 7. I figure everyone will make the big ones and I'll have a separate sheet for that.

So what you are saying is I would be better off not submitting a roster so I can at least finish 5th.
