@Sand - what’s our method for calculating the scores of the inobservant?
Before or after the flogging?
I figure 75th percentile, so 5/7 or 6/8, etc. Just my thought.
at the end of the stage race? or for each stage?
so for Tirreno-Adriatic, 5 out of 7 played, so they get the 5th place score? or they receive the last place score each day?
I'm not that dedicated. I figure just 5/7 overall, etc. I figure anyone in this group who finishes last should not have their accomplishment stolen from them. Right?
I think i'm not following.
What score are we giving the two missing players? I don't know how to interpolate 5th out of 7 when there are two unknowns. Do you mean they should have be tied for 5th, e.g., four scores above them - but they still outscore the last place team?
scores for Tirreno-Adriatico
5th 1178
4th 1513
3rd = 1536
2nd = 1771
1st =1990
percentile formula is
P = n/N
where n is the number of scores in the dataset and N is the total number of scores in the dataset
0 percentile = 1178
25th percentile = 1513
50th percentile = 1536
75th percentile = 1771
100th percentile = 1990
You said give them 75th percentile, so ADD +1771 for Tirreno-Adriatico, that gives them 2nd and 3rd place overall when we include Paris-Nice
If we give them 25th percentile, ADD +1513, would also be 2nd and 3rd place overall
If we give them the last place points, ADD +1178, after Round 2 Da Raiders would be 3rd and Jaysus 5th
Just from an equity view, I don't think we should reward anyone for not submitting a team.
(though in this case there was nothing strategic, they just didn't know there was another race or didn't check in.)
Last place points seems the fairest way to resolve this instance IMO but I'm open to being persuaded if that seems unjust to anyone.
