RB Quinshon Judkins, CLE (29 Viewers)

He's a tough one for redraft for sure. We currently have him RB37 and I could see him being way better or worse.
Got him as RB# 42 last night, pick # 144
That feels like good value.

He's going to be one of the more interesting players this year, I think. I realize some think predicting his outcome is easy. I think he's got a wide range and it's a challenge. Looking forward to it.

I would wait to see and verify this with other sources.

BREAKING: The #Browns and RB Quinshon Judkins have agreed to terms on a 4 year, fully guaranteed contract that will be agreed upon once the NFL finishes their full investigation, per sources.

Multiple league sources have been told that suspension is "likely" 2-4 games.

Have to take this tweet with grain of salt... There are too many misinformation out there nowadays. Hell, even this channel already generated 2 or 3 pages of "When will Judkins sign or not? Or have he signed his contract yet with Browns?!"

Yes. Much more than with a grain if salt.

I'm just sharing what I see and letting folks know they need to verify it.

If true, it'll be confirmed quickly.

This thing makes no sense on so many levels. I've not even seen or heard of an official sighting of Judkins since he posted bond and walked out of the jail. Has anyone else?

Hopefully when he eventually signs someone will offer an explanation as to why the Browns felt actually getting him in training camp, even if he was going to start the year suspended or on the exempt list, was just not important to them.

This all made sense to me when he had an open investigation but that's about when it stopped.

Well everytime it gets bumped you got to check in because you think it might to say he signed.

They could be waiting for the optimal time to announce where it's not the only news story and gets buried...Friday or Saturday or next week when everybody's talking about the games maybe? (pure speculation)

That's why I'm concerned about it. When something doesn't add up, there's usually some sort of reason for it.

Maybe it's nothing. But I've learned to lean in when something simply doesn't make sense.

I hear you.

Before his case was not dismissed this all made sense to me and I argued with a guy in one of my dynasty leagues that him not being signed made all kinds of sense at the time. I really thought nothing of it.

But I can't say that anymore with confidence. The lack of movement and total silence with the season kicking off for them in a few days just can't be ignored. I've not really been buying in redrafts, just hoping for the best where I already got him but there seems like there has to some significant detail we are not yet privy to knowing.

Chances are Ford and Sampson don’t stay healthy all year but also what about Rocket Sanders? He’s a big back like Judkins with good speed. How he looks in practice and any game action he gets will be significant.

So .. hate to bring any AC type questions into the mix here, but as a dynasty owner i feel its relevant. Are you guys keeping Quinshon on your active roster? or is he a prime candidate for the taxi squad at this point? Dynasty roster designations are due before kickoff tomorrow -

In my dynasty league, I took him at 1.07 in the rookie draft. (Mind you, this happened a few days *BEFORE* he got arrested.) Perhaps it's my being as optimistic, I still think he'll sign a contract with Browns. (In another league, which is redraft PPR league, I took Judkins at early 11th round.)

I took Judkins at the 5 spot in our rookie draft. Also just a week before the "incident" .. I'm optimistic as well, but if there is the dreaded CE or a suspension? might make sense to just designate him to the taxi squad.

So are you keeping him active?

if you wanna take a swing and some teams that drafted him earlier are in a rb pinch you can get him fairly cheaply. i offered javonte williams for him to a team starting bigsby and it was accepted. worth a shot i think

Yeah, there was a lot of chatter about Sanders. They may end up with a mess at RB just like they do at QB. But better to have options than not. Would be interesting to see what they do if Sanders or either of the other two backs goes off.

The only RBs drafted after him in my league were Najee Harris, Blake Corum, Dylan Simpson, Will Shipley, Tyjae Spears, Woody Marks, and Keaton Mitchell.

I feel way more optimistic that Judkins contributes anything significant than any of those guys

Completely agree, however I think Mitchell can be special in that offense if Henry goes down. Everyone else on that list is a JAG.

Not to de-rail the Judkins thread but Balt. seems pretty enamored with trotting Justice Hill out there in Henry's absence. He is RB2 and Mitchell saw minimal run last season.

Judkins at the price is the ultimate dart throw. The Browns have seen Jerome Ford and drafted Judkins and Sampson for a reason. Ford went first in my redrafts but I don't see how they'll stay the course with Ford. He is the poster boy for JAG, imo.

He was cut in one of my leagues last night
We can only carry 5 and I would have to make a cut to like Charbonnet or Travis Etienne
I'm thinking
:oldunsure:

What's the fastest he could actually see the field and contribute on the Browns' offense?
He's missed all of camp and preseason, would need time to get in game shape even after suspension and being eased in slowly

Who knows how or when this will end or play out, complete gamble taking him on roster at this point. I would not drop Charbs, Etienne is debatable depending on remaining roster and what your thoughts are on Travis.

I want to see him for a couple weeks in the new offense, I think he has a chance to get back to some of his production prior to last season
I also think if Judkins suits up that he will be a dynamic playmaker and change the offense around for the Browns, at least take some pressure of the passing game.

But we can't seem to get a time frame.
2-4 games, fine but when does he sign if ever?

This is all contingent on what your TS rules are. In my league I would for sure put him on the TS. This is the only chance I have to do so. Once the season starts if he is on my active roster I can no longer ever demote him to the TS. In addition, I can promote him at any time so even if I started him on the TS and he starts playing and doing well in week 10 I can activate him and start using him.

Without knowing your TS rules I can't really say what is the best option. In general, I would say he should be placed on the TS though.

Assuming redraft, I wouldn't cut either of those guys for him. Even if he eventually takes the starting job, he's still on a bottom feeder offense.

And will probably lose the receiving work to Sampson. Much rather keep Charbs and ETN

Same rules as your league. We do loose that taxi spot if we activate. Tough choice.

Did Judkins earn a lot of NIL from college? Financially how long can he sit out from a mufti-million dollar contract.

I'm sure, he was a highly sought after prospect. I don't know if it was ever publicly disclosed, but I have info on how much Ohio St budgeted at RB last year and Judkins chose them in part because they promised to limit his workload too.

Seems like Cleveland is trying to limit his workload as well

I think I mentioned it before, but if not, this would be a good thing. And yes I know your comment was a joke. I don't understand committing meaningful capital to RB while amidst a rebuild. That's a piece to add once ready to ascend, not prior. Limited usage this year would be a good thing in the long run.

They could do what they did with Trent Richardson, draft and sign him, give him a bunch of touches, then try to move him. In 2025/26 I think the RB market will begin to trend back to where it was in the 2000s/2010s as the NFL is a copycat league. Of course this is all based on the assumption that the Browns' front office in not playing checkers...

I'm sorry, this caught me..........at this point, I don't think the Cleveland front office even knows how to play checkers, let alone, Chess.:laugh:

Guess we'll pick this up next week.

Browns won't likely sign him and bring him in the building on a Friday and the NFL won't suspend him when they prefer to have a positive news cycle heading into the game tonight.

I'm not going to put any blame on the Browns until the full story is known but this is a really bizarre situation and turn of events.

It's disturbing how interested the NFL is about this incident
Judkins isn't even signed so he's not really drawing a paycheck yet from the Browns and Goodell is eager to suspend him
No arrest or charges filed, that should be about the end of it.

Do you think Adam SIlver investigates like this in the NBA?
Gary Bettman, Rob Manfred?

Sinner tried to cause a riot at the US Open, questioned the gender of the chair umpire and all he got was a fine

From India Times... 2-4 Games....
The Times of India????

Sure would seem odd they would have some kind of better sources here than any other media source. Not sure I buy they have any real info.

Remember that Ray Rice was never convicted of anything either. Obviously it was a very different situation, but that case almost brought Goodell down. They tried to use the lack of a criminal conviction to justify their initial suspension, but that didn’t matter in the eyes of the public after the video surfaced. People were calling for his resignation, and Ray Rice never played again. They said they never saw the video before it surfaced, but I don’t buy it.

Not seeing any confirmation. Looks like the report of signing was indeed not real.
Also, a couple of things that don’t add up:
1. why would the NFLPA suspend him when charges were dropped?
2. How can the NFLPA suspend a player who hasn’t yet signed with an NFL team? I’ve seen a few knowledgeable folks opine on this early on & came away with the understanding that the players union can’t do anything for anyone who isn’t under contract by an NFL team. Simply put, they don’t represent him, nor can they discipline him.
3. Wouldn’t it be the league office / commissioner that suspends him, if he does eventually get suspended?

I understand you were only sharing what appeared to be an update, and gave the disclaimer that it wasn’t entirely validated. I’m just pointing out what I see as rather obvious inconsistencies in this “reporting”.

and Devin Bush has a trail date Dec 2nd for his Domestic Arrest during the off-season and he's not suspended... not on the Exempt List... and will be playing Sunday; and honestly, nobody cares. I will continue to say this whole thing is to pressure Judkins to sign a lesser contract than he was drafted in.
