6-5, losing these 2 guys on top of it. Maybe the Bucs can be that 6 seed.
I don't know about Adderall, but I know that Ritalin is an extremely commonly abused drug among high school athletes because it's a stimulant, it improves focus, and it improves hand-eye coordination.Yep, that's it. Makes perfect sense now.I think I've read before that Adderall can also cover up traces of other PED's or banned substances, but I could be misremembering.Yeah, OK geniuses. And it is a PED in what way?So stupid - for being a banned substance, and if true, the players for taking something that doesn't even give them an edge.Sorry, I'm a middle aged ex-stoner, so it just seemed like a dumb thing to ban. But totally should since it is a masking agent. It is on the list because It can mask anabolic steroids.

Adderall does all of that and more. See the link I provided earlier. It absolutely should be banned and is. Not just for it's masking effects, for it's primary effects.I don't know about Adderall, but I know that Ritalin is an extremely commonly abused drug among high school athletes because it's a stimulant, it improves focus, and it improves hand-eye coordination.Yep, that's it. What are you talking about? It's very American to enjoy watching egotistical pro athletes being humiliated.WOW....Im surprised so many people actually care about the Seahawks.

They're not allegations. They failed a test, that's a fact.WOW....Im surprised so many people actually care about the Seahawks. I fully anticipate they will be cleared of the ALLEGATIONS.![]()
He was a top player in the CFL and had a really hard time getting up to NFL speed in the beginning. He's bigger than most corners and few coaches really rolled with that type of player. He's really not as good as his ProBowl berth indicated either, he's a beneficiary of the speed of Thomas backing him up and his size being something most WRs aren't used to dealing with. He's more surprising to me than Sherman.Browner's test result does not surprise me. The guy had been out of the league for 5 years before suddenly making Seattle's squad out of training camp last year. That kind of comeback is exceedingly rare these days and I doubt he did it without performance-enhancers.
Could you expand on what "out of the league" entails? What was he doing exactly?Browner's test result does not surprise me. The guy had been out of the league for 5 years before suddenly making Seattle's squad out of training camp last year. This doesn't matter though, right? Isn't their job to keep banned substances out of their system and clear anything they might be taking with the NFL before they start using it?Nothing official, but the rumors here are that Haden took Adderal so he could pull an all nighter in Vegas. Apparently this has become a very popular drug among this generation for exactly this purpose, partying. If this is the failed test I assume they took it for the same reason, not for a competitive advantage.
He was unemployed in 2006 and then spent 2007-2010 in the CFL. He worked his way up to being a CFL All-Star but that's not saying much.Could you expand on what "out of the league" entails? Athletes take Adderall for exactly these effects. It's an amphetamine based stimulant. Gets guys "up" to play. Increased HR, increased RR, more quick twitch excitability. Not a huge boost, but it does make guys feel mentally/physically jacked up for the game.Take a couple of OTC Primatene tabs and some Vivarin and you'll get a basic, although milder, version of Adderall.Sure seems to be lots of ADHD in the NFL all of a sudden. (sarcasm)These guys are stupid to get caught for something like this.I don't know about Adderall, but I know that Ritalin is an extremely commonly abused drug among high school athletes because it's a stimulant, it improves focus, and it improves hand-eye coordination.Yep, that's it. BS, I just saw Justin Bieber kicking off the Grey Cup in his weird saggy diaper type leather pants and pearl necklace. The CFL has officially arrived.FYI: Ricky Foley voted Most Valuable Canadian. He was unemployed in 2006 and then spent 2007-2010 in the CFL. (You can't make this stuff up.)Oh, it absolutely doesn't matter. It's on the banned list for a reason, just because the players use it for another reason does not give them a free pass. This doesn't matter though, right? Isn't their job to keep banned substances out of their system and clear anything they might be taking with the NFL before they start using it?Nothing official, but the rumors here are that Haden took Adderal so he could pull an all nighter in Vegas. Haden appealed, only way he'd have gotten off was if there was an error in the test taking procedue (see, Ryan Braun) or he had a perscription (he didn't). Unless Sherman or Browner can win either of those arguments they're toast, if they're smart they will drop their appeal if they're still waiting on a ruling before the week 14 game. That way they can at least make it back for the playoffs if the team finds a way to make due without them.Aqib Talib's four game suspension this year was for Adderall, which he did not appeal. Haden and Will Hill also were suspended four games, but it doesn't say if they appealed or not.
Talib suspended Four Games
Word is taht both Browner and Sherman have said they will take a lie-detector test in the appeal process. They are both adament that there was an error in the testing.
Right. And then if they fail the lie detector, they'll say there was an error with the lie detector test.Word is taht both Browner and Sherman have said they will take a lie-detector test in the appeal process. They are both adament that there was an error in the testing.
Agreed. These guys all take it for a competitive advantage. Zero question.Oh, it absolutely doesn't matter. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000091918/article/will-hill-nfls-ban-of-adderall-could-cause-problemsThe NFL permits players to use Adderall if they secure a league exemption. Giants running back Andre Brown followed that path and was granted permission to use the drug. The league lifted Brown's potential suspension because he went through the proper channels ahead of time.

because methaamphetamine salts (generic name for adderall on my script bottle) is essentially speed, especially so in people who don't have the chemical imbalance that adderall seeks to fix. I think the PED ban is stupid anyway. waste of time and money, not to mention that it harms players careers/cuts the short. Plus the way testing is, its usually a few years behind anyways, so its largely ineffective. the 'real cheaters'often get away, and its the idiots who have bad agents and dont file paperwork who get caught.'BobbyLayne said:HFSWhy is that even banned? Maybe this has something to do with it...
UPDATE: Mike Garafolo reports that he heard that the drug was Adderall, as basically everyone thought it would be. Sherman and Browner must have had a big test tomorrow that they were studying for and couldn't concentrate!

Is Adderall becoming the new excuse for steroids users? There is some thought that the substance was not actually Adderall.
The league does not specifically announce what substance guys get busted for.
The thought goes that it is better for the player to announce that is was Adderall than fess up to what the substance actually was.
I have no clue if that has any validity.

Yes, but they have to go through more NFL hoops to get approval. Don't know specifics, but Andre Brown is a case of compliance.Anyone know if the players can use Adderall with a prescription?
Cool. Thanks. I have a hard time seeing how they could legally allow it for some, and deny others.Yes, but they have to go through more NFL hoops to get approval. Don't know specifics, but Andre Brown is a case of compliance.Anyone know if the players can use Adderall with a prescription?

Mike Florio commented on this last summer: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/31/is-adderall-becoming-the-new-excuse-for-steroids-users/It's easy for players to claim it was Adderall because the NFL is not allowed to state which drug it actually was. There is some thought that the substance was not actually Adderall.

Cool, get another teammate in trouble. Pretty sure that even if it's legitimately prescribed, no Dr prescribes it for crushing up into a drink around game time.
