Not fully like that.

It is crazy how many successful movies her name is attached to though.  I tried to really give her the benefit of the doubt.
Yea I don’t really know what she does to have an opinion but I’ve liked most of the post-acquisition stuff. Loved Ep 7 and 8, but they definitely should have had one voice throughout that. Hopefully they learned from that. Ep 9 was enjoyable but a real mess. Bringing the emperor back was desperate.

Rogue One and Mandalorian were grand slams. Seems like Obi Wan is being well-received generally. Boba Fett was very meh. I don’t know, tough job. I don’t want to defend her because I don’t know anything about her but it would be hard for anybody to meet these expectations.

The more of this I see, the more I feel Anakin didn't deserve the "happy ending" at the end of Return Of The Jedi.
I had that thought too. It changes how the “redemption” hits at the end of that movie.

I thought Kennedy took a step back and creatively and F&F are in charge there. Or did I imagine that? I thought she was doing all the administrative stuff.
Nope, you're right. Filoni is the exec creative director and Kennedy is still around but by all accounts has zero influence since around mid 2020.

The Third Sister gets promoted to Grand Inquisitor and they put the medal on her and it just sticks and we don't know how.  Then they take it off, no sticky residue, no bobby pin, nothing.  So unbelievable!!!
Slow clap

Storm troopers are universally known as the worst employees in the galaxy

I'm a frugal person.  That's not to be confused with cheap. I don't think even cheap people can stand being around other cheap people.  Anyhow, a very wise person once told me many years ago "sometime you don't get what you don't pay for".

Oh my god that fight scene with the Williams score. Everything I wanted.

I could nitpick some plot devices all day but it made me feel like a kid again and that’s all that matters. Their final conversation was just perfect. I loved it.

This

I thought the show was pretty bad overall, but that last episode made it worth while.  I'm glad it was only 6 episodes.

Yeah it felt like they really struggled to fill the 6 episodes.  There was alot of bs

I still dug it though.  Just seeing MacGregor and Vader was good enough for me

Agree.  Felt like a 2 hour movie that they tried to stretch to 6 episodes, but that last battle was worth it.

They really should have explained how obi wan gained back his force powers so quick in the middle episodes.  Could have had more qui gon.   That would have been cool.

He went from like 0 to 80 pretty quickly

I've been 'luke'warm on the series but damn if they didn't stick the landing on the finale. Obi-wan remembered he was a jedi badass just in time.

Solid to great finale. Certainly some awesome scenes. I still think Luke showing up in Mando is the best Disney star wars scene to date though.

How is reva on tatooine while vader is still right behind obi wan’s ship?  And obi gets there in 5 seconds from across the galaxy. This goes back to my nitpick from a few weeks ago.

I would have liked some more flashbacks of Anakin and Obi Wan from the clone wars days. Maybe fighting droid armies or those little droids with the force fields around them. Would have been cool.

With no evidence, I think that both the first Mando season and Obi Wan were 2 hour movies that they stretched. Mando season 1 has about 5 episodes that barely connect to the larger story that I think were adders.

There were tons of plot holes, the whole B plot with Reva was superfluous and poorly executed - I don't care, I ended up liking it overall anyway. Mainly because Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan is fantastic, and also because we got to see more of the animosity play out between Obi Wan and Vader. I found myself wishing they'd have another season, and give McGregor some better material to work with.

Given this, Obi Wan might be my favorite character in the Star Wars mythos at this point - at least in a 3 way tie with Han Solo and Ahsoka Tano.

On another note, my son and I are doing a rewatch of Clone Wars. Really good stuff.

Literally that’s the point of tv shows. It’s not wall-to-wall action like movies.

I have some friends desperate to pick apart every moment of the show. It borders on obsession. I have no idea how a Star Wars fan didn’t absolutely love it.  Speaks to overall cynicism in life imo
Like I said it was way too clunky and just doesn't add to the overall story.   For the record I loved Mando and like fett.

also the article posted lays out the inconsistencies of the story, the horrific dialogue and acting in general.    In hindsight leia shouldn’t have been the story but more inquisitors hunting folks and answering to Vader.

so I am betting that Disney was banking on reva being liked and having her own spinoff but now not so much.  Having her know about Luke and where he is is just mindnumbingly stupid in respect to the Star Wars canon.

It absolutely does, especially these critics desperate to poke holes through stuff to justify their miserable life view. We get it, it’s not written like Breaking Bad but that was never the expectation and it did what it was supposed to do imo.

I don't need an article to tell me whether the acting was good.  I thought the acting was absolutely fine.  I thought Reva and young Leia gave really solid performances.  I even teared up a bit at the end in the Kenobi/Leia scene.

Reva wasn't my absolute favorite character, and I seriously doubt that she will have her own spinoff.  But could she perhaps be in the upcoming Cassian Andor show?  IMO of course she could.  She's a really good and complex character.  A padawan almost killed in order 66, trained as an Inquisitor, hated Vader and seems to be ready to turn back to the light-side.  Seriously why the hate?  I honestly don't get it.

Mando is obviously going to push the story ahead more than Obi-wan, because there's so much plot armor in Obi-wan - The main characters can't die, and there are extreme limits to what can happen, as we know their ultimate outcome.

It's just surprising to me that so many want to see Vader and Obi-wan in their primes - then we get that, and people whine about it.

And clunky?  In what way?  Just such a weird criticism with nothing behind it.

Breaking Bad is my favorite show of all-time.  Yet there were unbelievably implausible scenes, there was plenty of terrible acting, there were annoying side narratives that I didn't care for at all, and there were entire episodes that didn't push the plot forward at all.

In the entire history of TV, fans always give shows a pass for episodes that don't move the plot forward, are slow, and have side narratives they don't care for - provided that they enjoy the overall show.

But not in Star Wars.  One "slow" show and there are legions of "fans" desperate to criticize and mock it.  It's so weird, but there are a lot of unhappy people out there.

3rd Sis approaches Uncle Owen's house. They pull out their defense weapons.

I look at my wife, "that looks like my shotgun."

"It has to be a blaster shotgun."

"Oh. I hope so."
