Explain the thought process behind a bump for Holt -- if anything, a downgrade in the running game allows the D to focus in a little more on the passing game, no?Trying to decide between Holt facing a middling pass D with possible increased looks, and Antonio Bryant against a fairly weak Dallas secondary with possible decreased looks with Galloway back.I'm removing Colston from my line-up and replacing him with Holt. How does this affect the WR's for St. Louis?Steven Jackson is inactive Sunday against New England. This severely decreases St. Louis' chances of winning the game. That is a tough question, and one which I'm struggling with myself. FBGs bumped Holt up quite a bit with the news, so they obviously think more emphasis will be payed to the passing game. My only problem with that is with no SJax, the defense can key in on the receivers since they likely aren't worried about Pittman gashing them effectively. I am nervous they will revert to the trainwreck of earlier this season and NE will pound them into the ground. I am leaning towards leaving Holt on my bench since he hasn't even produced under good circumstances, and this is not a good circumstance. I currently have Bowe, Colston and Morgan in over him, but my trigger finger is getting itchy to make the switch.Bulger/Holt/Avery do not equal Cutler/Marshall/Royal and we saw what the NE defense did to them last week, so that is what is keeping Holt on my bench for now.How does SJax being out effect the value this week for HOlt and Avery?
But remember, Cutler got hurt in the first quarter and had a big effect on that game to include the Hall turnovers. That is a tough question, and one which I'm struggling with myself. I think it's too risky to play him even if he DOES give it a go. Clearly it's worse than Haslett made it seem earlier in the week and I'd rather sit him now and have him healthy for his great Week 14-16 schedule.![]()
Thanks to my 5 week old daughter who kept me up all night so I didn't get up early enough to swap out SJax for S. Moss.
