**TNF on Prime Video - Buccaneers 3-1 at Falcons 2-2** (-1.5, 43.5) 8:15 (3 Viewers)

Atlanta Options

QB - Cousins, has not performed well and the offense isn't scoring TDs. Bucs pass defense is average but they are stingy to the WR positions

RB - Bijan, do you really have a choice? Bucs are actually right in there at Top 10 for points allowed to opposing RBs, Bijan has a good chance for a decent night

WR - As I said the Bucs are on the stingy side so anything past Drake London is is just throwing a dart and hoping for the best

Not sure of Pitts status at Tight End, the Bucs are middle of the road for TE points allowed.

Bucs Options

QB - Baker Mayfield, the No 1 overall QB in FF right now, am I right? Falcons are on the stingier side of things, not really elite but in the Top Half. Baker won't have it easy

RB - Again the Falcons are on the stronger side of holding opponents down. White/Irving, average night at best

WR - Falcons are right in the middle of the pack, a good passing game like the Bucs should be able to pick their spots and find some holes

TE - Falcons allow a little more at TE vs WR, nothing to get excited about though

Chase McLaughlin is worth a look at kicker tonight, Falcons for whatever reason attract a lot of FGs as they themselves kick plenty of them, weather a non factor tonight

Bucs are blitzing at a 35% clip, third highest in the NFL. No bueno for a gimpy QB

Bucs are allowing 5.0/rush attempt at 7 rushing TDs, both near the bottom of the league. This should bode well for the Falcon run game, if they choose to utilize it. Atlanta is 27th in rushing attempts and has only scored one TD on the ground

Tampa is 5-1 straight up against ATL over the last six games, including 3-0 at the Benz.

Line opened at ATL -2.5 (or -3.0 in some places) but quickly settled at -1.5.

I'll take TB +105 to maintain their lead in the mighty NFL South

Don't look now but The NFC South has some of the most entertaining teams/games on the schedule right now.
Falcons were the preseason "soup du jour" in this division.
And as has been mentioned above The Bucs just seem to get overlooked.
A win tonight and The Bucs set themselves up to win the division...AGAIN.
But for sure with the emergence of The Red Rifle any NFC South matchup is fun to watch.
I think both defenses will play just well enough to keep the winner from getting to 30,
But mid to upper 20's is very possible.
I'm not overlooking The Bucs in what should be a very entertaining game to watch...

Tampa Bay- 27
Atlanta- 23

Atlanta really needs this win. They would be in a big hole otherwise and have 6 of 9 on the road coming up including at TB. Thursday ball is usually kinda ugly, so I would expect not the best play but should be close. I trust Koo in the end, 23-20 Atlanta.

Heart and hope says Bucs. But, short week on the road. Head says Birds until Baker and the boys show me they can string together consistent success and stack signature wins. Time to show everyone you deserve their respect and recognition as a true contender.

Several injuries on both sides. Vita Vea against a back up center? I like that. :flex:

I think Atlanta’s RT is also hurt? Keep an eye on Sub Zero YaYa Diaby. He’s top 3 in the NFL in pressures, but has played several QBs with escapability that have gotten away from him so only one sack on the season. Kirk is not that guy.

This is an excellent matchup for Chris Godwin. Falcons pass defense is much stronger deep/outside (Bates/Terrell) than they are in the middle.

Both teams are better against the run than the pass. Feels like a decent Bijan receiving game too.

I'll say TB wins 27-20.

Trey Palmer - OUT tonight, hasn't had many targets this season, did have 26/TD last week
Tonight Cade Otton might be a sneaky sleeper at Tight End
17 targets the past 2 weeks
13/99 yds or 6/50 roughly on avg
Can he do it again tonight? A lot of folks would be happy to punch double digits at TE for once this season

Center Drew Dalman is OUT and on Injured Reserve, think he might be gone for the season
That is a major blow inside to their OL, he was performing at a high level
Not good for Bijan and also make it easier to rush up the middle on Cousins who already looks slow this season

Sometimes teams are exposed, could the Falcons be exposed this evening in ways not being discussed by the media?
Hasn't been a lot of crying for Michael Penix to be unveiled as the starter in Atlanta

1) Bucs still seeking consistency on offense.
-This is mostly about the fact they are pass heavy and could benefit from a steady diet on the ground

2) Falcons could stand to get Kyle Pitts going.

-So could most teams at Tight End, I don't see any reason why the light switch flips here tonight, Bucs are pretty strong against opposing TEs

3) Tampa’s defense must keep the pass-rush momentum going.
With Dalman OUT at Center, the Bucs need to push from the inside and nose tackle spot, push the pocket back on Cousins

4) Falcons must make more game-changing plays on defense.
Basically the writer is saying if they don't create turnovers on Defense they aren't likely to win the game so Baker doesn't have to actually do a ton tonight to win the game
Maybe...

Bucs have upcoming games against BAL, @ KC, SF, they'll be very lucky to enter the Bye week ay 6-4, more likely 5-5, possibly worse if they don't take the Falcons seriously tonight
ATL twice and the Saints mixed into their upcoming games, they need this win to stay on track for the Playoffs and winning the Division
Tonight is as important if not more so than Philly last week
