Unbelievably horrible reality TV thread (1 Viewer)

I get that there are people who will do just about anything to be famous, but it's stuff like this that has sent television down the drain.

I just skipped straight to the final episode. Then fast-forwarded through most of that to the reveal. Actually glad now I didn't waste any more time on that. Ending sucked.

So who won and what happened when she found out he's not Harry?

Kimberly was the girl selected. Kelley and Karina were the others in the final but he got rid of them. I did not watch the parts where he told them to leave, so I don't know how bad Kelley took it but I assume she completely broke down.

Anyway, he told Kimberly she was his choice, then said he's not really Prince Harry. He asked if she would still like to date him. She said yes. Since she did say yes, in a surprise for both her and Matt, who didn't know, the butler told them they'll split $250K as a prize. She said something about getting to know the real him or whatever.

No montage of the other girls finding out, which I was hoping for.

And Fox really needs to get back to churning out more of these reprehensible shows like they used to, like Paradise Hotel and Temptation Island.
Are you watching Escape Club? It's definitely Paradise Hotel. Watched episode one tonight and it is spectacular.

I remember Temptation Island. What are these other ones? Same premise?
Paradise Hotel was a bunch of 20-something losers (half men, half women) in a catered alcohol-fueled fantasy resort voting each other off to have one person remain and win (survivor style.)

Escape Club is this same concept, and the winner gets a full year all-expense-paid vacation. All of the men and women have decided to use sex appeal to get other people on their sides. Which means it's just a drunken skeeze-off.

Episode 1, half of them have started making out and sleeping in beds with the opposite sex.

:oldunsure: the wife sent an audition video to Temptation Island for the 1st season (and a bunch of other reality shows while we were still dating). Producers wanted us to come to some kind of meeting for something or other... but I found out and nixed it. We found out later that our good friend was friends with one of the producers (unbeknownst to either of them)... and she mentioned that they really wanted us to be on the show- IIRC, as something different from the other cast members. We watched the first couple episodes... ... we were definitely somethign different than the other cast members. Thank baby buddha we didn't go on that.

Has a porn channel gotten around to producing something like this yet? Seems like the concept lends itself perfectly to hardcore. That would be truly epic.

"amateurs", or porn stars?

the idea is genius, but maybe a bit too expensive?

I believe "The Sex Factor" will be better than that.

If Sheik is agreeable, maybe we could change this to be the "unbelievably horrible reality TV thread" now that I Wanna Marry Harry is officially over.

Oh amateurs 100%. Maybe aspiring porn stars, but not the heavily tattooed/pierced types with big flappy labia. The 18-22 set, still somewhat naïve but looking to get nuts for 6 weeks.

:oldunsure:

In my younger days, when I needed the money, I may have pitched a few ideas similar to this to some producers...

Just make a Joe schmoe where all the people think theyre pranking joe and act a certain way but Joe is actually he one in on the real goal which is to get the actors to break from their acting. True Reality!

Watching Last Comic Standing last night - unbelievable sets. Joe Machi was amazing.
First time I've ever watched this show before. I couldn't get past the presentation on that dude. That said, there was some funny #### in the competition part going through Universal.

His previous sets have been fantastic. He has a whole bit on "the n word" that killed it during auditions.

Oh, I'm sure he's funny...I just felt like I was watching a ventriloquist dummy with his mannerisms etc.

agree.

I usually prefer a more natural, low-key presentation like the guy who lost... but yeah- the Machi guy still killed it.

roasting Gilbert Godfried next week should be right in his wheel-house.

His last joke last night had me rolling.

Vague paraphrase:

I haven't talked about gun control yet. People ask me "what would the founding fathers say about gun control?"

To that I say "if you asked the founding fathers about gun control, I think what they'd say is - what's all this I hear about women getting to vote?

And who is that in the White House?

Is that one of Thomas Jefferson's kids?"

Very highly recommend Dating Naked on VH1. The three I've watched so far have been awesome. Available on demand on DirecTV.

:blackdot: :bag:

Just seeing this thread for the first time. Joe Schmoe's first season and Temptation Island fan here. Somehow I missed Paradise Hotel as well as the Harry show (not too broken up about the latter). Looking forward to the Bachelor in Paradise premiere tonight. What is the premise of the Dating Naked show?

It's set on a tropical nudist island resort. A guy and a girl go on a date completely nude, then they each date two other people on consecutive days. After each date they meet for dinner and drinks by the pool, fully clothed, then usually they get ####faced drunk and the clothes come off again. Where it gets interesting is at these pool parties because everyone is there -- not just the two pairs who went on dates that day, but the previous nights' dates too. So it's a situation designed to breed jealousy and multiple hookups. At the end of the show, everyone is brought together again and the main guy and girl each decide who they would like to continue dating. But in many cases they live far apart so they probably just bang and then fly home.
