yes, it was a clear hand ball. Hard to see on the original shot but a different angle on the replay was clear.

On the offensive side, Weston, Dest and Weah have been stand outs. Weston's cross field balls are wonderful tonight.
Defensively, both CB's have been clean and given Oman nothing to build on.
I was hoping Pulisic could get more involved but the team is flowing with him just being average so far.

It might be an impossible task but if GGG can find a way to get the best out of Weston, Pulisic and Dest all the same time will be key whether we can go on quarter final type run in 2026 or not.

He could be. However, every single game BJ coached, he featured 2 holding dm's with a player at the point.
The two 8's you see tonight is the exact setup GGG used in 95% of the last cycle.

It's all about those CBs moving the ball quickly. Those two have been pitch perfect... passing, or just bailing it out if needed. And soooo much quicker moving the ball than last game. That's opened the entire field up for the other guys.
That, and Swag just diming it. 50 yard pinpoint switch after another to wreck Omans middle block. MOTM so far, by a lot. Dest and Weah have both looked great, as has Musah.
So... WTH is going on with CP? He looks like Jedi on the dribble, with worse results.
Lund... great workrate and getting into great spots. Pretty pedestrian on the ball, but he's been a nice look. Tillman doesn't look comfortable at all in the middle of the field with his back to goal. He's looked better once he's facing goal into a little space- made some nice cutting runs into the box. But seems like he's best at a CP or Weah role... which could be ok for depth

Dest and Weah are continuing to form a strong relationship on the right.
It is harder for Pulisic on the left, since Jedi is limited technically and does not provide much offensively outside of lung busting runs every so often. And a player like Lund is way too green to be involved much offensively.

When a midfielder is doing what Weston is doing, it makes the CB's jobs so much easier. But we should also note that Oman is doing nothing to cut off balls to Weston. Uzb packed the midfield so tight, Ream and Richards could not find any openings and looked so slow on the ball.

For me, these game are all about performance. What are they trying to do, and are they doing it. Are they dictating the game or reacting to it.
I love how quickly they're moving the ball. And I love the fluidity of the attacking players, sometimes Balo or CP dropping to pick the ball up, but always runners attacking the space they left behind them. Loving that they're working the ball into the middle of the park as well as wide. Tbh, I think Tillman has nullified a lot of that by taking the wrong decision with back to goal.

I believe the ball was moving so slowly, UZ was able to hold their shape through middle. With the ball moving quicker like this, the MF starts to open up.
