WR CeeDee Lamb, DAL (4 Viewers)

2nd pick tonight in PPR and I'm passing
I wouldn’t. He’s gonna be a monster.
I’ve been wrong before. But I just don’t see how this deal doesn’t get done.

Chase, Aiyuk and Lamb are all sort of playing chicken and I see all the dominos falling around the same time.
Exactly what I see. I put the chances of them missing time at less than 5%

Conditioning / chemistry could be a challenge and lead to a slow start (Bengals always seems to start slow) but otherwise I’m not too concerned. I have Lamb in one dynasty & Chase in another. Not really worried.
I’m not worried about Lamb in dynasty, but I sure am hoping in my long time redraft that he’s off the board before my pick at 1.6 so I can go in another direction.

That's a big problem. This is your first round pick and we are banking on a guy, Lamb, who might lead you to an 0-2, 0-3 start before he rounds into form.

.@TomPelissero on NFL Network on CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys: CeeDee Lamb remains a holdout as he has been throughout the course of training camp, but I do sense there is some optimism in Dallas that that could be coming to an end soon. The sides have communicated a lot over the past 10 days. Everyone involved knows where the other stands, in terms of what it's going to take to get this done. And CeeDee Lamb is not pushing to be the highest-paid receiver. If and when this extension gets finalized I would anticipate it comes in right underneath Justin Jefferson. So it should not be a super complicated deal to work out. Having said that the Cowboys historically, certainly in recent years, have moved slowly on a lot of these types of deals. Time now is of the essence. The regular season begins two weeks from today against the Cleveland Browns, you're going to need to get CeeDee Lamb out onto the field if he's going to be ready to roll in Week 1. So a critical couple of days here as the Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb try to finally reach an accord.

in other words, CeeDee’s going to sign the deal he always wanted right at the moment that timing for Week 1 starts to become a problem.

You can set your watch to it, but I’ll be damned if I can understand why.

Chase is back at practice. Might move him to my #1 WR because of it.
Would you take Chase over JJ? I don't think Chase's ppg have ever been better than JJ's. Or is Darnold a hill too far for you to cross?

I took JJ over Chase at 1.07

Partly because of the hold-in, but also partly because I think Darnold will be good enough to sustain JJ’s value.

I may regret it, but I think a healthy Higgins caps Chase slightly more than Addison caps JJ’s value

:kicksrock:I'm just over here still having Lamb at 1.2.

ETA: I think there is some chicken little-ing going on. This guy was BY FAR the #1 WR last year once Dallas stopped scoring 2 defensive TDs a week to start the season. He has zero target competition, a great rapport with a very good QB, and gains zero from sitting out actual games. 99% confident he'll be playing week 1, and I think the argument that taking him in the 1st means you are signing up to lose weeks 1-2, is ludicrous.

Didn’t hesitate to take him 1.2 in last nights best ball draft.

Probably. He has been on pace for ~1,500 yards & 12 TDs every year with Burrow. The numbers he puts up with Burrow are shockingly consistent.

Seems like a good bet to finish there at least, and he still probably hasn't had his "career year". And you know he wants that next contract .

Big Chase fan this year.

I with you. I draft my home league next Saturday and still take Chase 1.02 even if it’s not resolved. It would be terrifying, but I agree it’s chicken, and historically Dallas has always caved.

Big Chase fan this year.
Me too, but when I had that choice it was Tuesday, and there was a little more ambiguity.

That said, I think it’s kinda coin flippy between JJ & Chase.

I might even take ARSB over them both. Super consistent week to week, PPR god, fun offense to root for, and I like the dude. He’s a red a$$ in the mold of a Jeff Kent of Phillip Rivers. I love players who bring that intensity.

But really any of the 3 are fine.

I have ARSB very close to Chase, I could easily see flip flopping multiple times while on the clock.

Yep, Jerry always does this. His reasons are a mystery. He's going to completely cave and give the guy the exact deal he wanted, and it's going to cost the team the reps in practice they're behind. Boggles the mind.

Not a huge fan but it's looking like he might actually fall to me at No 5 later this week in one of my Redrafts
I really don't want to get into this mess. wish it would sort itself out already
Hard to get excited about a guy they might have to go easy on the first 2-3 weeks as he misses all of training camp

Yeah, I can see him becoming a real problem for people who are drafting this week. He might fall to the middle of the first where you're going to be forced to make a decision on him, without knowing whether or not he might actually miss some regular season games.

I know it's unlikely that this carries on into the season, but still Jurrah needs to get it done this week.

I'm going to pass for one simple reason, lack of practice. I see injury in his future and I want nothing to do with it.

Will I take him at some point, sure. But I like Hill, Chase, ARSB, JJ and Hall more.

i agree with your first sentence... seen too many guys pull a hammy out the gate after missing preseason

but then you say you like Chase more? Isn't he also holding out?

Chase was holding in and he returned to full practice yesterday. He was with the team the entire time, apparently he did not practice with the team but was doing all the film study and WR drills on his own, also running routes and catching passes after practice.

CeeDee hasn't been seen by the team since the season ended.

He fell to me at 4 yesterday. I don't love the situation, but the guy was so far ahead of the other WRs last year that I couldn't pass on the potential upside.

About damn time Jerruh. Once again you waited, thinking you were the smartest guy in the room and still ended up giving CeeDee everything he wanted.

My guess is the only holdup was the Cowboys kept pushing one of their weird seven-ten year deals and CeeDee's people weren't having it.

Well that's a relief for my dynasty team.

WR1 in redraft. I haven't been in draft position to take him yet out of 4 drafts. Tonight i pick 6th in the FBG Bowl, and not holding my breath. Wednesday I have the 6th pick in my last NFFC and I have no hope of getting him there either. Gah.

My last redraft shot will be my home league on Saturday. Won't know until day of the draft when we draw picks live.

I might take Lamb over CMC 1.01 Saturday if I am lucky enough to land that pick.

The Trent Williams situation will have devastating impact on the 49ers, who’ll have a solidly below average OL if he is absent.

I want to believe this is an overreaction, but as. 49er fan I feel this to my core.

Any special reason why he's showing as "suspended" on MFL?
He's being held off the 53-man roster for now just because they can, to keep a couple extra guys on the roster for now, or whatever. But if that's why, no idea why that would be listed as "suspended".

Right, he's on the Commissioner's Exempt List (which is usually used for suspended players), but it means he doesn't occupy one of the 53 slots. The Cowboys can activate him any time, though, and cut down then.

Use it as a “buy low” opportunity in dynasty. Suuuuuper short window, and only applicable to ESPN leagues.

I have pick 2 next week in PPR league and assuming McCaffrey goes 1 I was dead set to take Hill. Now I am considering Lamb.

I’m Lamb > Hill all day.

Age is a concern for me with Hill, plus Lamb should get the target volume advantage assuming Waddle is healthy.

WR2 is pretty weak in DAL

Don't you want a decent WR2 so they don't double or roll coverage over you?
With everyone laughing at the Dallas RB room, I also wonder if a ****ty ground game can take a little sizzle of the passing game… if people aren’t biting as hard on play action, or just not scared of giving up big yards to slow elderly running backs.

Who was the decent WR2 last year when he put up 135/1749/12?

Edit: I think having Ferguson, Cooks, and Tolbert is enough along with a stud like Lamb, myself. Just asking because nothing has changed on that front. Lamb should continue to be a monster.

Didn't seem to hurt him last year.

They have a very good 2nd receiver in Fergusen. They'll cobble something together between Cooks & Tolbert - Cooks' knee is a concern
