and just like that my roster is back down from 23 to 20. ugh.
What does everyone think about stacking in this contest? Obviously, if you stack the right players then it will work well but I am asking more in general. I don't recall seeing many or any comments about stacking players so I assume it is to be avoided for a best ball contest.
Stacking is good. Last year I stacked each of my quarterbacks with at least 1 WR or TE, and I'm probably going to do that this year too. What does everyone think about stacking in this contest? Trying to come up with more and more ideas this year. My team usually stinks, but I always feel like I have a decent team. This year, I cannot come close to what I feel like is a decent team. I am trying to have a team of studs as my flyers never seem to work out each year. Heck, maybe me hating my team is a good thing.Stacking is good. Stacked QB-receiver duos have correlated production within a single game, which helps if you make the finals. You'll be trying to finish 1st out of 250ish, not middle of the pack, and correlated upside with your stacked players going off in the same game helps with that.
Stacked teammates also have correlated season-long production (if the offense is better than expected that's good for everyone on the team), which is helpful for making it to the finals. Less than 2% of teams make it the finals, so you're unlikely to make it if you just have a middle-of-the-pack or slightly above average squad - correlated upside gives you a better chance to have one of the better teams and therefore makes the finals. (Though you do want to be careful about investing too much in a single bye week.)

It's not bad. If you're going thin with 4 RB and WR each, I'd be nervous about Roschon and Elijah because they have high volatility. Picks like Gainwell or Elliott at RB and Thielen or Boyd at WR might not have the upside these guys have but MAY have safer floors. It's all a guessing game and this could be the winning lineup.Alright. Where am I going wrong?

You must have missed it, but Mike Badgley was cut first by Washington, they by Tennessee, and finally signed to Detroit's practice squad. So he's not an active player. And if he becomes one, he would be very risky. You'll want to swap him out for a better choice. Riley Patterson is Detroit's kicker; not Mike Badgely, at least not yet.

It's REALLY HARD to accommodate someone like Robinson. I can't encourage you to drop him because he MIGHT be the next Adrian Peterson. Depending on your level of Robinson fetish, you could also switch Mixon with the Chicago back or get more creative and choose only one of Johnson or LaPorta to upgrade WR. Or downgrade Cook or Goodwin to a $10 player. GL.Looks good. Maybe shift $9 away from RB ($94) to WR ($77).QB - Brock Purdy - SF/9 - $12

Thats why I come here. Where else can you get such in depth analytics? The good news is I have settled on 22 as the official sanctioned final roster size.
I was inspired by the battle against the Rabbit of Caerbannog.

which naturally makes me overly interested in Najee Harris and Odell Beckham.Lots of Jaylen Warren and Zay Flowers popping up in these rosters. They seem like they will be popular.
I have $3 im not sure what to do with. Wanna borrow it?The good news is that I have the lineup I want. The bad news is that I am $3 over budget.

2 kickers is pretty risky. I've had lots of weeks where that 3rd K saved my skin. I agree you need to take some risks to win, but is $1 worth it here?I saved a few bucks byThe good news is that I have the lineup I want. The bad news is that I am $3 over budget.
- moving from three $3 Ks to two $4 Ks ($1 savings)
- then I just committed to two $3 Ds and not rostering a 3rd ($3 savings for those going with 3 x $3)
Then again, I don’t know if I’ve even made it past week 7 in this contest.![]()

I guess I was just remembering being burned by the $3 kickers last year (Blankenship, forget who else) and looking at this year’s $3 kickers…no thanks. You can say you‘re “safer” in this contest with 3 kickers, but it quickly became only TWO when one was cut. So I went with two $4 kickers who’s jobs are much more secure. Sure, if injuries hit…that’s true of this whole contest. I’m going with Stud QB and 1 backup QB. If my stud QB gets hurt, game over. All about risk/reward in this amazing/annoying/addictive/frustrating contest!2 kickers is pretty risky. I've had lots of weeks where that 3rd K saved my skin. You can check with the forum 'historian' @TheWinz to verify this, but I believe statistically you are better off with 3 PK and 2 DEF, rather than 2PK and 3 DEF. Kickers statistically outscore defenses on average by close to 3 points per week in this scoring system.
I find it best to just roster all the $3 and $4 kickers. That way if one gets cut you still are covered. And in best ball you are almost guaranteed 15+ points any given week from your kicker.I guess I was just remembering being burned by the $3 kickers last year (Blankenship, forget who else) and looking at this year’s $3 kickers…no thanks. Agreed. Entire defenses can't get cut or injured, but kickers can. If I rostered 2 of each and had $3 extra to spend, I would always opt for a 3rd kicker, unless there were only 2 kickers I felt were safe from cuts.2 kickers is pretty risky. It cuts both ways. The advantage of a third kicker over a third defense is that one of your first 2 kickers might miss time, and your first 2 defenses won't. D's and K's are priced equal, but they don't score equal. On average, K's score about 25% more, and that number is even higher if you can avoid the scrub kickers who get cut. I always go with at least 3 of each, because they're cheap.
