It's been a strange pre-season for me. I have been much busier with life and with family and I was a bit late to the party. I joined the large roster group for this contest development and told them that I have always submitted a large roster for the contest, but not this year. I appreciate @Joe Bryant for offering this early entry add-on as I was a winner either last year or the year before and also very much appreciate @TheWinz for doing the tracking, which is both fun to follow and not an easy task.
I struggled with player selection more than any other year, not sure if it is because of my views or if y'all just did a great job on the player costs. As I sat down at my computer early this morning, Kenny Loggins kept interrupting my roster considerations.

QB - Cousins $15 - 12
QB - Mayfield $14 - 11
One of my core strategies is to always find a cheap option at QB and go with three. Three gives you more chances to offset the down days and more is always better in best ball. Or if you decide to go with only two make sure one of them is a candidate for MVP. So, this is not a typical roster choice for me. I do like the consistency of Cousins and think that he will do well in Atlanta and I do love the receivers that Mayfield has, but I am sure most will agree this is risky going with only two and neither of these guys are even in the upper reaches of QB2. Oh well.
RB - Jacobs $23 - 10
RB - D Swift $17 - 7
RB - Javonte Williams $14 - 14
RB - Allgeier $9 - 12
RB - Dobbins $8 - 5
Like this group and it does have a few upside guys. I usually go small roster at RB and so five is a common number, but normally it's 5 out of 28-30 and here it is 5 out of 24 so it seems a bit less risky than normal. Maybe I could do that with my low $ expended at QB. Like this group, especially if Dobbins can play more than 12 games.

I really like this group of seven in that several seem capable of outproducing their contest cost and they wind up with zero doubling up of bye weeks. I feel like this is an excellent best ball roster and the strength of my contest team. Should see an abundance of flex scores from this group.
TE - McBride $24 - 11
TE - Ferguson $17 - 7
TE - Likely $9 -14
TE - Parkinson $3 - 6
Love my top two here and should also grab some flex scores out of those two. Really hoping that the Ravens take advantage of a double tight end set often as I believe that would help their offense immensely and would not be bad for my contest squad. The inclusion of Parkinson came about because of all the lower cost players, he survived and he is not a that solid of a choice.

Three cheap kickers who I need to keep their job. One of them had to be the Razorback Little as I just could not add Hunter Henry with the Patriot offense questions. WPS Go Little and don't go home

For what it's worth, interest in the contest has been abysmal this year. We normally have 10,000-12,000 entrants.
Had less than 5,000 this morning. That's terrible to be giving away this much money and have such little interest.

I don't want to criticize your business model Joe, as you've probably forgotten more about this biz than I know currently, but I can tell you anecdotally that when you guys made the switch to tiered pricing, where base-level subscribers don't have access to "elite" content, I was so disappointed that I vowed not to subscribe at all - and the ONLY thing that brought me back to the fold was this awesome contest. I suspect the subsciber contest isn't the real problem but what do I know. I spend most of my time on these boards and messing around with the contest, and I also check the rankings regularly and read any article that catches my attention, but it is a bummer when I can only read the beginning of an article.

Personally, I don't spend as much time on this board or others as I once did. The contest brings me here a bit though. I also subscribe for the FF League and FF Draft apps. So I'm around before and after the games start. I love both of those apps.
All feedback is always welcome. No worries there.
There will always be folks that don't want to pay the price we charge for content. That's been a challenge from day 1 and I totally understand there. We're not for everyone.
We think we're by far an incredible value for what we offer and charge at all 3 tiers. But again, we're not for everyone.
What bums me though is the low participation in the contest. We have more premium subscribers than ever. This is another record year. So there are more people eligible with an entry into the contest than ever. But fewer than ever taking advantage of it.
Really odd.
Again, I know it's not this group as I know y'all love it.

I think it's related to the death of August football. Your e-mail updates don't provided nearly the content they used to and that's where people probably see the reminders about the contest. That's not a knock on your product, it's related to the NFL going from 4 preseason games to 3 and most of the starters not even playing. I used to be so jacked for the preseason games. Who's going to be the starter, DeAngelo or JStew? Is Cam going to be worth the number one pick? I've pivoted from reading the e-mails to spending more time analyzing the projections and reading the articles. Are others doing the same...I'm sure you have the backend data to support this. Your DFS customers aren't here yet. People used to be able to justify pre-season gambling, not the only people doing that need to call a hotline to seek help. I watched zero preseason football this year. The only interesting think in the few emails I looked at were the teases to articles.

I love this contest because it front loads all the effort and then you just coast and see if you were good at seeing the future or terrible at it. I'd hate to see it end.

It's good you sent the reminder email today. With the daily emails, the contest was probably mentioned a handful of times but maybe it got lost in the noise a bit.
Although, pricing of players was tougher this year and I wonder how many people tried to build a team and then said nah and bailed?

I actually liked the pricing better this year than last year.
Last year we had no $2 players IIRC, and there are seemingly some solid values this year.
We capped the FBG Bowl on Sleeper at 2,000 teams but it felt like the demand was there for 15,000. With a trophy as the only prize.
It's wild. And kind of discouraging. Again, not with you folks. And I know I'm whining.
Anything is possible but I would be surprised if that's a reason. I'd think people would at least take a shot when it doesn't cost them a penny.

Maybe it's me, but I got a tad frustrated trying to find Jacob Cowing, Dyami Brown, and Malik Washington for cheap and then realizing that they're not listed.

You've got a great thing going here for sure, and it seems like if people were more aware, they'd be crazy not to join the subscriber contest, which provides so much endless fun and an incentive to do research on players well before the season kicks off. I feel like the contest might have been easier to find and was more heavily promoted on the home page in years past? Instead of a small banner up top on the home screen, maybe the contest needs its own half-page column "bubble" like the Rankings and Articles have currently? You could also try auto-enrolling people somehow - especially folks who subscribe after the contest kicks off, you could link them to the contest right at sign up after the purchase goes through? Might be a good reason to kick off the contest earlier in the year as well.

The same thing happened last year, so I wouldn't be too worried right now. Last year the contest closed on midnight 6 Sep, and you posted 8 hours prior to the deadline there were only 5300 entries. It turned out 4700 more entries piled in in the last 8 hours, and the final tally was 9966! There's still about 57 hours to contest closing, so you are actually ahead of last year.
