Strategy for 2024.... smallest rooster ever for me at 20... I've gone deep a few times, but can't get over that hump at the end so trying a swing for the fences this year and see how it works... will probably fall back to a 24-25 rooster next year. Overall philosophy was to stack QB with something, take a big TE, and then go cheap on 3 PK and 3 DEF. Didn't quite work out when I was moving numbers around and felt like I had to drop a kicker.. may come back to bite me. Big fear is week 5, but that's the major hurdle I am concerned about.
QB: Hurts/Smith
With the Eagles having an early bye week, and being an Eagles fan, I felt the need to go all in on the Eagles this year. When looking for the backup QB, I wanted someone that I felt could put up numbers at a cheap cost and I landed on Geno. If he can come back to the probowl year of his, then he'll be solid. If not, then I only use him for one week, where he had the best matchup against a subpar NYG defense.
RB: Swift/Javonte/Wright/KWIII
Went light at RB this year with four. I feel like between Swift/Javonte/Wright, I should have a decent time finding two good scores with their ability to catch passes. I like the upside of Wright in the Miami offense and if Mostert or Achane lose any amount of time, he could be a homerun play. All their bye weeks are outside of week 5. Also wanted the Geno-KWIII connection in case I can double hit a TD on the Eagles bye week.
WR: AJB/Devonta/Rice/Worthy/Iosivas/Shakir
I am excited about this receiving core. I like having both Eagles WR, where Jalen had a second place finish in total % of passes thrown to the WR1/WR2 combos at 52% (Raiders were #1 believe it or not). I think we'll see both WRs get their due and this format gives a good shot to the end of the tourney with the double stack. Since I liked the way that was going, I figured I would double tap a Mahomes stack with Rice/Worthy. I believe one of them will come out of that mix and be a solid WR1 to complement the team. Looking at the Cincy situation with Chase, I though Iosivas may be a sneaky upside pick throughout. Shakir is in a great situation. With the loss of Diggs and Davis, there are 100+ targets that need to go somewhere. My thinking is Shakir may end up with a good amount of targets, even though Coleman is going higher than he is in drafts. I think Shakir could be the puca of this year.
TE: McBride/Conklin/Hill
I have no doubts on Mcbride being a monster this year. Solidifies the TE situation easily. Conklin with Rodgers could be a decent second and potential solid play as Garrett Wilson takes off the top. Last but not least, I expect Taysom Hill to be widely owned, so need to mitigate the risk by having the cheat code as well.
Pk: Dicker/Gano
Wanted three, ran out of money. Only have two. As I question some of these offenses in pushing the ball in the endzone, hoping these guys deliver a lot of FGs.
DEF: Vikings/Raiders/Broncos
They were cheap.
