the thing about rostering hubbard is that when this thing really counts, in the late weeks of the year, he likely won't be the starter.

Maybe Brooks will be the starter at the end of the season. Though, he suffered an ACL tear less than a year ago, misses camp because of said injury and will suddenly just come in at some point and completely take over the role.

I'm not buying it. People are just completely shrugging off Brooks' medicals. Hubbard had a good season last year, and he isn't just gonna get pushed aside.

IMO, Brooks' impact will be next season.

Adrian Peterson is the only RB I've seen to truly shrug off an ACL tear. It's typically an 18 month injury.

Goff is on many rosters for sure, and while I usually had the Goff/Stafford combo, I’m now buying into the “Darnold has to put up big points occasionally with those weapons, right?” Theory. So saving cash on my QB2 here to spend in other places.

5 starting RBs plus 2 depth/injury pieces. I like this combo of a bunch of fantasy RB2’s/RB3’s who all start for their team, and the bye weeks worked well with this grouping, since that was an issue here with a few combos I liked but couldn’t make work.

5 WR1’s for their teams, plus 2 dart throws. Same here with WRs and bye weeks but, boy, I’m loving this WR group I’ve assembled. #noJinx

My top 2 TEs have been locked in for a few days (that’s an eternity in this contest, right?) and I finally gave in to grab contest darling Hill to save a couple of bucks for RB and WR.

You say Lamb isn't worth it? The dude averaged almost 24 points per week last year. It's like being able to start an extra WR in your lineup every week. Add in a target hog, an underpriced fugitive, and a few boom/bust guys, and it's a recipe for success.

The reason Jameis Winston is a contest choice for $7 isn't because he is a decent backup QB; it's because a few folks in high places thought just maybe Watson wouldn't be playing an entire season.

RB - You went pretty light, but RB's typically are the worst positional value, dollar for dollar. I think you'll be fine, but as the season progresses, I think you'll be hoping for injury to multiple starters. Week 12 could be rough, if Chubb comes back.

WR - Strong! That's all I have to say about this group.

I think Caleb has a lot of ceiling for this contest at a pretty low price. It's unclear how long his learning curve for the NFL will be, and hopefully Stafford can keep me afloat until he hits his stride. With the weapons his has though, when he does, Chicago should be a top end passing offense.

Last year my top RB was Chubb. This may be a bit of a PTSD reaction to that. Somehow I held on and made the top 250 anyways, so I trust my ability to find WR\TE value for less. I like Barkley this year a lot and loved getting a $2 handcuff for him too. Pacheco is going to have more room to run that ever before, I see a top 8 RB season from him, great value for his price. Javonte, I think he'll have some good weeks and some not so good weeks, but he'll probably be a flex counter a lot of the time. Dobbins and Vidal are hopefully adding up to a significant role on a run first team. And Laube, worth the $2 to see if he is Oakland's 3rd down and hurry up guy. I can see the Raiders playing from behind a lot of weeks and Laube getting decent work those weeks.

I always go cheap at WR, but this year I may have outdone myself. Rice, unlikely to be suspended this year, is a value (that's why he's on everyone's roster). BTJ, Keon, and Polk are all starting rookie WRs that will have significant roles. Hoping 1 or 2 aren't busts and end up being contributors. Rome probably starts the season as the WR3, but I think he'll finish as the top WR in Chicago and he gives me a QB\WR connection. Doubs was dirt cheap for what he is IMO. Tucker is a starting WR for $3. And Noah? Well, I dunno, but the WR room on the commanders is kinda wide open, he could take the #2 if Dyami still has the dropsies he's displayed the past several years.

You always want strong TEs in this contest. Andrews was under priced because he was hurt last year. Pitts, hoping Cousins juices him back to what he was as a rookie, but TBH, I almost pulled him because the camp reports weren't great. He's still got the athleticism though, and Kirk loves feeding TEs. And Taysom... It seems like he'll be the most owned player in this contest. With my build he should be a flex scorer when he has those random weeks where he does some magic trick to get into the end zone.

Punting on TE in a TE premium PPR contest is a strategy. Not a good strategy, but it still is one.

IMO, don't do it. Especially when Hill will be 50% owned.
