One of the curses of being an obsessive tinkerer is that every guy who goes off was in your lineup at some point. I give myself tons of credit for being smart enough to almost pick Quentin Johnston. Funny, though, my memory fails me if I try to remember if I had any lineups with Pacheco or Pickens.
I not only had Q on several iterations, I actually drafted him in Shark Pool League 0004.....then cut him to pick up Fannin

I had Pickens from my first iteration but was starting to question it. The last move I made before the deadline was dropping Pickens for Golden, and Dropping Diggs for Pearsall, saving $6 total. I used that money to upgrade QB from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love, and swapped the Falcons defense for the Chiefs.

We will never know if these moves really pay of until we get pretty far down the road. But I had been hating my inability find a way to roster Matthew Golden up until that point due to his week 14 bye, and I also was leery about Diggs' injury risk. Both with week 14 byes, Pearsall for Diggs was a logical switch, and just before I used the extra cash to roster RB Marks, I realized in could instead grab Jordan Love and have a stack with Matthew Golden.

I take Golden+Pearsall over Diggs+Pickens every day, but I’m very anti-Pickens.

I did so many variations of lineups that it would be easier to try to remember who I didn't have on my roster at one point

Wow Tyler Bass to IR. Rough for fans of expensive kickers.
-QG
If you're spending big on a top kicker, you're mainly doing it for that late-season leverage. Bass starting the season on IR is actually the best possible scenario for his owners. He is already lightly owned despite being one of the best in the NFL because people were scared away by his price and his pelvis injury, and by the time he's banging home 50-yarders in November and December the ranks of the Bass owners will have thinned out even more. You just gotta know to pair him with someone like Grupe who has a late bye. and don't go *too* far in on this strategy and rooster Bass with Rice, Dart, Coker, etc. 😏

I guess for people who spend big money on a top kicker . . . (you and I apparently do not) they might be able to console themselves with that logic. But history has shown that no $6 kicker in this contest has ever outscored any combination of two $3 kickers that could be rostered for the same expenditure.

Additionally, there is no guarantee that Bass comes back in 4 weeks (or at all for that matter), although he probably will. But note also that often we are not told all the details of these injuries (Note McCaffrey last year and others). There is also the question of whether the big $ kicker spender, assuming he has rostered at least one additional kicker, will be able to survive the contest during the invariable statistical off-weeks that every player will likely experience between now and November when it is assumed that Bass will in fact be back, and also be able to perform at the same high level that the big spender manager felt justified the $6 price tag. o_O Wow, that was a mouth full !

Last season we had 11695 entries, this season we have 556 less, but still just as challenging.

First month will weed out many of the non-competitive rosters or those that didn’t quite grasp the intricacies of needing to start fast. By Week 5 we will only have 46% of the field left. Will be interesting to see how many teams that fielded suspended, IR designated to return or PUP players that will miss the first month are still standing.

Here is the UNOFFICIAL future Cut lines, not counting ties that may affect the final cut numbers.

Each week as we progress I will update as often we get ties that does affect the total cutlines:

Start 11139
10% Week 1 Cut to Number – 10026
10% Week 2 cut to Number – 9024
10% Week 3 cut to Number – 8122
20% Week 4 cut to Number – 6498
20% Week 5 cut to Number – 5199
20% Week 6 cut to Number – 4160
20% Week 7 cut to Number – 3328
30% Week 8 cut to Number – 2330
30% Week 9 cut to Number – 1631
30% Week 10 cut to Number – 1142
30% Week 11 cut to Number – 800
30% Week 12 cut to Number – 560
40% Week 13 cut to Number – 336
40% Week 14 cut to Number – 202 (means the top 23 non-playoff teams this week win a prize)

Notes From Contest Rules:

- In weeks 1--14, the cut is based on scores from the current week only. Scores reset each week.

- Specifically, the cut will be determined as in the following example. Suppose it is week 7 and there are 2,394 entries at the beginning of the week. Because the cut percentage is 20% for that week, 2394 will be multiplied by 0.80 and the resulting number, if not an integer, will be rounded UP to the next greatest integer. In this case, 2394 * 0.8 = 1915.2. We round up to 1916. The entry with the 1916th-highest score, and all entries with an equal or greater score, will move to the next round.

- if fewer than 225 participants remain after week 14, then prizes will be awarded to eliminated participants according to highest score in week 14. If prizes are still unawarded after that, then highest score in week 13, and so on.
Bold above added by me. My Excel calculations - if I'm doing it right - have the first 8 weeks (post-3, thru post-8, actually) as thus:

After week 3 cuts: 73.9% of original field (11,139) remaining
After week 4 cuts: 58.3% remaining
After week 5 cuts: 46.7% remaining
After week 6 cuts: 37.3% remaining
After week 7 cuts: 29.9% remaining
After week 8 cuts: 20.9% remaining

Of note, approximately 1.8% of the original field (11,139) will make it thru week 14 to the playoff weeks.

Yup all 390 teams that had him...

His injury was announced a couple weeks ago and it was said that he would be out multiple weeks. I took him off my list at that time and marked him as possible 4 weeks on IR. They also signed another kicker to their practice squad at the same time, so the writing was on the wall, even though they didn't make the move to IR official until just before the contest kicked off.

I guess 390 people were not keeping up with the news.
ESPN said it was the same injury he had last year and he played through it. I was able to pick up a different kicker in a different league

Entry # 108494

My late, beat-the-deadline by 2 minutes Entry was the only Rooster I submitted, to the best of my knowledge, as I was working everything out on paper that night while drafting a $350 FPC Team. If you could please check and confirm, please.

Thank you!

On the bright side looks like I totally wasted money on Pacheco...
I was rolling with Bijan and Pacheco for most of the tinkering time period. Literally on the last day moved some money around to replace Pacheco with Chase Brown, hoping that holds up as the right call.

Sorry if this has been addressed already and I'm too lazy to go through the thread but, how does one change their team name in the contest so it isn't a number? Thanks!

I don't think it was possible last year. Unless they added an option for this year. I have to guess you'll just be a 6-digit number again?

Entry # 108494

My late, beat-the-deadline by 2 minutes Entry was the only Rooster I submitted, to the best of my knowledge, as I was working everything out on paper that night while drafting a $350 FPC Team. If you could please check and confirm, please.

Thank you!
You never posted a lineup in here before the 2 Sep midnight deadline, so you are not eligible for Joe's badge offer.
You are eligible, however, for Joe's offer of a possible lifetime subscription if you can't beat his team. Here is his team...

If you did post your team in here prior to 11:59pm on 2 Sep and I missed it, please let me know.

Gotta love my $2 wide receivers so far...

Bouette NEW ENGLAND. . . . had 6 receptions for 103 yards = 16.3 points
Dotson WASHINTGON . . . . . had 3 receptions for 59 yards = 8.9 points
Ayomanor TENNESSEE . . . . . . (still to play)

I'm sitting on 138.70 points with 3 QBs , 2 RBs , 4 WRs, and one PK still to play....

QB - Geno Smith - 24.10
RB1 - Jacory Croskey-Merritt - 14.20
RB2 - Chase Brown - 12.10
WR1 - Emeka Egbuka - 23.60
WR2 - Kayshon Boutte - 16.30
TE - Dallas Goedert - 14.90
Flex1 - Stefon Diggs - 11.70
Flex2 - Jahan Dotson - 8.90
K - Chris Boswell - 15.60
D - New England Patriots - 6.00
Total - 147.40

Should be my score after the early games. Only players left are RB's Derrick Henry, RJ Harvey, Woody Marks, WR Matthew Golden, TE Dalton Kincaid, and K Tyler Loop

The bad news: Chase Brown 12.1, T. Henderson 8.1
The good news: JCM outscored them both.

The good news: Mc Bride only 15.1
The better news: Warren and Fannin both outscored him.

The good news: Keenan Allen 19.8
The better news: Egbuka 23.6

The bad news: Grupe 7.6
The good news: Boswell 15.6

After 1pm (except Car/Jax)

132.55+(Henry/Mason/Chubb - 4.70/7.20/12.10/14.20) + (McMillan/D Moore/Palmer/Franklin/Ayomanor - 4.70/7.20/19.80/23.50) + (LaPorta - 4.70/7.20/18.40) + (Santos - 15.60)

So pretty good shape.

-QG

Sitting at 150 + a kicker to come. Henry/Mitchell/Monangai - 8, and 4 WRs that would have to hurdle 17 to matter. Not a big score but that doesn't matter. Not a lot of big time games from players this week.

107455 is my second entry. In 2nd place after the noon games with 189.30 points. Pearsall points over 12.1 points would add.

My first entry is in 52nd place. Could still have James Cook, DJ Moore and Pearsall if they score over 13.70.
