Geeze, some of you lushes almost sound like you are replying to a thread titled "How much alcohol could you drink in a year?"

Easily. I probably drink between 4 and 10 beers a day. At least twice and month I'll have a 15 beer day/night.
I'm guessing you wipe your ### a few times a day even without pooping.

I've been this guy once but that was about 25lbs. ago; once the mid-day dizzy/sugar shakes became the norm - I quit.
2-3 beers/day ain't nothin' and that'll take you to 1000. I'm real surprised at the poll numbers--would have expected just the opposite here.

What attracted me to this post is the "25lbs." though--after 40-some years I've had to quit for the past 6 months and dropped about that much. Miss it.

Uh, I don't even know what this means. Your ### used to leak from drinking?

i can't think of a day when i don't have at least 6 beers...light beer though, so i'm ok...

FOLLOW UP QUESTIONS:

1) How many light beers can you drink in a single sitting (say 2-3 hours at a bar) and still be ok to drive?

2) same question but liquor drinks

3) same question but heavier beers

A 12 oz. can of 4.2% beer (Coors/Miller Lite) has 0.50 oz. of alcohol.

High ABV beers (8+ %) have about 1.00 oz. of alcohol.

A 1.5 oz. shot of 40% spirits has 0.60 oz. of alcohol.

A 5 oz. glass of 14% wine has 0.70 oz. of alcohol.

ya, the beer variance throws off the poll imo

True, but it's only meant to be a rough estimate.

I was surprised that a bottle of wine has as much alcohol as 7 light beers. Maybe that's why it's so useful with the ladies.

Was in the 2k range for years up until a couple of years ago. Now less that 500 and much healthier/happier.

You drink a lot of beer, you fart a lot. Look at your underwear, that's not normal. HTH.

I drink tons of beer, and I don't have this problem. Maybe you have some adverse reaction to malt or something.

How do you not die from a 30-unit day?
30 light beer a day isn't too tough in the summer.
Pretty sure I haven't had a 20 unit day in more than 30 years, and have never had a 30 unit day. Seems absurd, honestly.
I come close most days at the cabin in summer.

Starts out with:

7:00: big breakfast before golf with guys = 2-3 beer and clam

8-11:00: golfing = 6-7

11-1:00: BBQ some lunch = 3-4

1-3:00: nap

3-5: fishing/working/lounging 2-3

Then it depends on happy hour with the neighbors and how many people are out at the camp fire and till how late.

Never really feel drunk because of all the feasts and snacks throughout the day.

I'msorry but this is ####### ridiculous. Why? Would you drink 30 waters?

No. Water is awful. Fish #### in it.

Glorious beer, on the other hand....

I can't drink 30 glasses of water in a day if I tried

Sheesh it's not like I'm a teetotaler. Some of us are like "30 how is that possible?" & most of the FFA is all "yep, 30/40/50 whatever it takes."

30 beers does seem excessive but I could see having 6-8 strong mixed drinks and 12 beers on a hot day at the beach or pool. By the definition in the OP that would get you to 30 units.

I think I consumed less than 20 units in 2015, and half of that was on 2 nights out with my Japanese counterparts after day-long meetings. :suds:

My dad was the kind of guy who had to crack a beer the minute he got home from work. I enjoy drinking occasionally, but I never understood the desire to live in a perpetual state of inebriation.

When you buy wine by the gallon, that's 32 units. :excited:

Light beers do, but more than a few IPAs or other full bodied beers and I'm too full to enjoy it.

I would consider someone who AVERAGES over 3 drinks a day to be either an alcoholic or at least heading in that direction. I haven't approached that kind of number since I was 22 in the NAVY

We have a bottle of wine every night with dinner. 2 or 3 bottles on a Saturday and Sunday. We're looking to keep that to 2 bottles this year.

I'll have 2 or 3 6-packs of beer over the week. No cheap, lite stuff. Nice IPA's or something good. I'm looking to keep that to 2 at most this year.

Baby steps.

This post made me take a hard look at myself and get the drinking under control.

I never put two and two together and thought i just wasnt wiping properly out of of apathy and depression.

This is my third night in a row without a drink. I havent drank less than every other day in over 6 months.

Got plenty of the other bud though which helps.

Was at a party where the goal was 50 beers in a 24 hour period. One guy made it.
I don't think this is possible unless he was 400 pounds plus. This would be the equal of having 26 beers in an hour. Plus .50 bac.

He was probably about 180. It was the beer with the least alcohol we could find and it was an average of two per hour.

This chart calculates it as your BAC going up .04 for every two drinks and down .015 per hour, so every hour was .025. That would put him at .60 BAC.

I saw him drink at least part of every beer (we'd put it on a board after every one) but quite possible he cheated. Other people hit about 30. He was very drunk and probably around .30 BAC.

Doing the math on 50 12 oz beers (4%), that's 24 oz. of pure alcohol - equivalent to nearly 2.5 bottles of 80 proof vodka, or an entire bottle of Everclear.

Not quite. But I make it a practice to drink as much and spend time with as many disreputable women as possible.

1000 units seems like a lot for average. I drink a glass of bourbon pretty much every day which would be 3-4 shots. On the weekend I mix in either more bourbon, beer, or both. So I hit that 1000 unit level pretty easily. I would also say that it's a lot drinking and by no means do I think I what I do is average.
