Music Draft - Rolling Stone Greatest 500 Songs Garbage List - Now with unhealthy regional pork-stuffs! (2 Viewers)

I just got into my Louisville house.  Yay me.  Can I assume that the spreadsheet is up-to-date and accurate?  It's been a really ####### long day.  Thanks to Yo Mama and simey and I'm sure others for running the clock, too.

I will be on for a while tomorrow morning but then doing family ####, so probably can't keep it up tomorrow either.  We're in the home stretch, though!

I'm ready with my pick if RA is around.

I did a small DK showdown tourney with one of my buddies tonight. a 15 person one. We didn't discuss lineups or anything in advance. I'm not a cheater and also, I wanted to beat him. Improbably, we were 1-2 in the contest basically all night. The late big play by Kupp put him ahead of me by 1.8 or something.

I was fine with that, it was really cool that we were going to take 1-2, even if he finished 1st.

But I had Rams Defense :ninja:  and the late interception swung it to me by .2  :excited: .

I was pretty sure I was taking it home because that basically ended the game.

Then the last play of the game came and it was a 13 yard pass to Travis Homer who didn't play all game... and was on my buddy's DK squad :sadbanana:

Anyway, it was still very fun. But #### Travis Homer.

There's a little technique to it, too. Best to use 151, and it's got to be poured easy and floated on top of the amaretto. Only the rum should burn. And -- don't hold the shot glass at the rim when lighting.

Does it taste anything like Dr Pepper?

All the loves. That show was just amazing.

Which one?

Spent most of the end of the first half drunkenly yelling at the television to put Zardes in the game instead of Pepi.  I suppose that's why I'm an accountant and not a soccer manager.

OK I have my old timey belt-it-out country hits (Stand By Your Man, Mama Tried).  And I have my good time classic hip hop and R&B (No Diggity, Nothin’ But a G Thang, Get Ur Freak On).  Only one song can bring it all together.

I got the horses in the back….

I’ll take the anthem of a generation … Lil Nas X - Old Town Road.
If i didn't need the only Miles on the list this would have been gone.

I've been eyeing this as my only Happy Green in the segment after landrys unashamedly sniped my penultimate one.  I'm happy to get it after waiting what I thought would be too long!

Dolly Parton - Coat of Many Colors  (#263)

Folks, I'm exhausted and don't know when I'll turn to this tomorrow morning, so rather than hold anyone up, I'm going to make my next pick.

I am choosing from a grouping that all five drafters after me have already covered, so there is no chance I'm sniping anyone.  Sorry for pushing and shoving my way to the front, but it's a victimless crime.

18.6  The Velvet Underground - I'm Waiting For The Man  (#81)

With that, I have only one Angry Red left on my draft sheet. and it's one I feel certain someone else will take before I have to.  :bowtie:

landrys has three segments undrafted, with the following songs.  I wonder which song will become Mr. Irrelevant.

#384 Cardi B - I Like It

#391 Eric Church - Springsteen

#392 Coldplay - Fix You

#451 Migos - Bad and Boujee

#453 Missy Elliot - The Rain

#460 Steel Pulse - Ku Klux Klan

#478 Juvenile - Back That ### Up

#485 Azealia Banks - 212

#486 Lil Wayne - A Milli

#487 Solange - Cranes in the Sky

#488 The Weeknd - House of Balloons

#500 Kanye West - Stronger

I've never heard any of these, unless that one by The Weeknd was one he played at the Super Bowl.  :bag:

257 - Heat Wave / Martha Reeves and the Vandellas - 1963

This song secured Motown's first ever nomoination for Best Rhythm and Blues Recording and Billboard named the song #12 on their list of 100 Greatest Girl Group Songs of All Time.

Loved Rondstadt's version, but the original is also fantastic.

I love everything about Solange.

I kind of regret picking Welcome to the Jungle at 1.05 before anyone had any idea how this format was going to play.

I know these two, which are coincidentally the most likely ones that an old white person would have heard of. 😆

My wife is a big country fan so I know the Church song pretty well. It's good by modern country standards (which are very low). I've come across the Coldplay thing a few times over the years. It's ... Coldplay.

Heard this on the radio earlier in the week. What a great song. Love the yeah yeahs at the end.

They closed the Super Bowl halftime show with it

So Tasker is up, then me. Please don't skip me unless I time out. In which case I empower anyone here to just pick for me.

I used to be a regular in a bar called Cheers (really). Bellied up next to a damaged Vietnam vet maybe 30 times. He thought this was the greatest song ever written. Played it so much the bartender (a dishonorably discharged Navy seal) removed it from the juke box.

Well, Tasker and I share no white boxes on sheet 3, so no reason I cannot pick. I just know my insomnia will have me sleeping when you all arise. I've had two waiting since my last corner without being sniped, but I think I will listen to everything available before jumping the line.

🎸🎹🎷🎧🍕

I wasn't pleased with what's available, but maybe I get lucky on one in the last two rounds. These are the two I had ready to go since my last corner. Always happy to get island vibes on my draft boards. I would have been happy with some Bob, but this works for me just the same.

17.25 Steel Pulse - Ku Klux Klan #460

18.1 Augustus Pablo - King tubby Meets Rockers Uptown #266

What do you do instead?

It's the closest thing we still have to pop monoculture.
Go to the bathroom, wash the dishes, scoop the kitty litter, all the stuff I'd normally do at commercial breaks but for the SB I actually watch the commercials.

ETA: If something memorable happens, it's all over the infernet the next day, so I don't feel like I'm really missing anything.

I was getting high on salvia divinorum with some friends at a party during Nipplegate. When I came back into the TV room, the people who saw it were all atwitter and I couldn't really process it. 😆

Lots of angry reds in there.  I predict Cardi B will be #500.

The run of karaoke songs is now over. It might have been possible with some different choices earlier on but alas, it was not meant to be.

I see he's picked from the group I want, so my

Round 17 pick is

Landslide  (163)  -  Fleetwood Mac  (1975)

I guess it's on to songs I may or may not acknowledge from now on.

Insane value for both of these...big fan of both songs.
