Dang, no "Ai No Corrida", either? Yikes. No "Love Is Like Oxygen"That's pretty suspect for a 10K-deep list.
Never heard of them. The Jam has like 15 songs on there. Well respected.
Golly that was funAAAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH this board won't let me say g.o.d. d.a.m.n. either
Oh hell yeah. That's the former Mr. Avril Lavigne right there.
For me, the shingles vaccine hit me way worse than the covid vaccine or any flu shot I ever got. I had a bad fever that night. Good luck.My "celebration" of becoming an old person continues. Last month I had my first colonoscopy and tomorrow I'm getting my shingles vaccine. Hopefully that won't knock me out, but I'll advise if things are heading that way.

I did my tough-guy-type yoga today anyway.Noticeable lack of Blink-182's "First Date", but we got the rest of the hits."Break Stuff" is on that top 10, 000 but no "Nookie", "Rollin'" or "My Way"![]()

Where the #### is "I Miss You"Noticeable lack of Blink-182's "First Date", but we got the rest of the hits.
It is one of the last songs on the list that fits with my draft theme, so my options are limited. But this is such a fun song, it really is hard not to groove to it.I love every song left in that group but I was telling @Steve Tasker just a while ago that this was close to my favourite song left on the board.
Their failed foray into ballads, I believe.Where the #### is "I Miss You"
No "Love Is Like Oxygen"That's pretty suspect for a 10K-deep list.
Yeah, so where is it?Easily Their best songfailed foray into ballads,I believe.
I've never heard of it either, that I know of. But I have heard the other songs you mentioned in your last paragraph, and did so when they were new or relatively new.Going through some of the songs on the Rolling Stone 500 that I'd never heard before.
- MIA, "Paper Planes": Curious how I missed this -- never caught this in the background somewhere, kids never listened to it, nothing. The song is of and to a different generation ... can't find a connection.
Someone make a comparison for me: Not knowing "Paper Planes" in the 2010s is like not knowing (blank) in the 1980s.
"Beat It"?
"Like A Virgin"?
"Tarzan Boy"?
What level of 2010s cluelessness are we talking about here?
Warning: This is coming from the guy who never heard "Hey There Delilah" or C-Lo's "Eff You" or Flo-Rida's "Low" until they were taken in drafts here. Just learned about two years ago what song Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" was (though I had heard that one in the background out and about, just never got a title/artist ID).
It was one shot but pretty sure you need a booster after a few years or something. Don’t quote me though. Is shingles a series or just one shot?
It's at least on Acclaimed's Bubbling Under list for 1978. That would ballpark it as something like #10,500 -- 10,600.No "Love Is Like Oxygen"That's pretty suspect for a 10K-deep list.
completely agree.
Sloan and The New Pornographers both well represented on the list, thankfully.#6195 another Canadian classic that should be higher.
I'm so sorry on behalf of whoever made you listen to this monstrosity.Warning: This is coming from the guy who never heard "Hey There Delilah" or C-Lo's "Eff You" or Flo-Rida's "Low" until they were taken in drafts here.
It wasn't a big hit in the popular consciousness, so don't feel bad about not knowing it. I think it was more an indie/dance/hip-hop thing...definitely big there.I've never heard of it either, that I know of. I'll have to revisit them. I dabble in country, but I've always pretty neutral on the Dixie Chicks.I love Dixie Chicks. That song wouldn't crack my top 30 by them.
It actually kind of irritates me that it's on the list because I don't hate it but it's probably the 8th best song on Fly.
I would encourage everyone to listen to Heartbreak Town, Without You, Sin Wagon, Cold Day in July, Cowboy Take Me Away, Ready to Run, etc, etc, etc.
Dixie Chicks are so good and this song is just too shticky/RS making some statement.
Sadly, it's a 2 dose series, 2-6mo apart. Is shingles a series or just one shot?
Top Youtube comment: "Emo Willy wonka breaks into a wedding and insults the bride"I chime in with a "haven't you people ever heard of closing the god [insert word that FBG won't let us say] door? No? It's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality."
Good ol #7122

And it's often unpleasant. But definitely less unpleasant than getting Shingles. Go get it.

Weirdly, when watching that video, I recognized her face -- MIA, the artist. She's getting known for something not related to music, isn't she?MIA would have been played on MTV in the 80s and everyone would know about her.
Its melody was stolen for David Essex' Rock On, so maybe it's considered influential? Why no, the second is "Back Off Boogaloo."![]()
