Interesting to note, OC has the current cutline at 139.90, while I have it at 140.25. I'm using the same player scores he is, so I'm not sure why we differ, but I'm pretty sure mine is right. Anyway, that means that the first 5 (actually 6) points Jimmy Graham scores won't move the cutline at all.
Seems like too large a difference for the handful of staff entries to matter. I will say that I've noticed that sometimes sportsline and espn differ from the nfl in their stat reporting on game day so maybe it's something like that?-QG
It's definitely not the staff entries. I'm excluding them, and if anything, if OC was including them it would make his cutline higher than mine, not lower. And it's not stat reporting, since I'm using the individual player scores directly from his site. So we're using all the same scores, but we're coming up with different cutlines.
I'm pretty confident mine is right, because I'm using the same process that I use weekly to update my DB, and I always match it to the official results Drinen posts and have always matched exactly.
I don't know if he's totalling up all the roster scores correctly but somehow getting the wrong cutline, or if he's miscalculating some of the roster scores. Maybe he has some logic built in to exclude players whose score is zero, and this is inadvertently causing him to count someone like Tashard Choice who scored negative points yesterday. (ETA: Don't think it's that, since I believe we didn't match last week either, and there weren't any negative points last week.) I don't know. Just figured I'd mention it so (a) OC can try to fix it, and (b) if someone looks at OC's results at 1:00am tonight and thinks they just barely made the cut, they might wake up in the morning to find they actually missed the official cut.
