I 100% believe Cousins, if healthy, is the starter in week one but it honestly feels a little bit like he may be on a short-ish leash.

The common person such as us can see it that way. But the entangled web of NFL greed, corruption, etc, doesn’t see it that way. Some owners are just so cheap they would rather see their franchise tank with the guaranteed money to a QB than to just move on. The Browns have been a loser franchise for quite some time. I think the Falcons will probably move on sooner than most think.
This is true. They look elite. Still, Cousins can't move. Defenses can just rush to a spot and meet at the QB.

I didn't get to hear this part so thanks for posting it , I was watching Aikman and quoting him in the game threadI tire of the Manning overexposure, but this was a unique view last night with the Manning Brothers and Matt Ryan watching the final Falcon drive.
I like Cousins and it was good to see him shut up some of the "can't do it in big game" talk.

I do enjoy listening to them breaking down x's and o's with Belicheck and other former players. Last night it was decent for the most part. Of course, I also can't stand Joe Buck and Aikman... so that may also be why I tune in the Manningcast.I tire of the Manning overexposure, but this was a unique view last night with the Manning Brothers and Matt Ryan watching the final Falcon drive.

I feel a bit different. From week one, with hardly any snaps under center and some really tentative throws... it felt like Cousins was a bit snappier in this game and the last drive really had some of his former swagger back. This game could have been a turning point for his confidence coming back from the Achilles.
This is kinda what I was hoping for when I saw cousins arrive here. he felt like the right kind of QB to take advantage of the skillset of the receivers here.
Cousins does some magical things as a QB, especially late in games, but it's his consistency week in and week out that's always kept him out of the elite QB discussion. Personally, I'm rooting for the guy to take the Falcons deep into the playoffs this season.
