WR Ja'Marr Chase, CIN (2 Viewers)

There went my dynasty season. Best wishes for Chase and that he heals up. Hips are tricky joints, and they can be career-ending or altering.

****.
Hi Rock, what references do you have to say this?
I'm only asking because most of us are thinking "4-6 weeks", OK a month and maybe the rest of this season or until late...your take is insinuating he might never be the same and I was wondering what has you posting that? And please I'm not busting your balls, I just would like to understand

I didn't know this hip injury was severe from Sunday and I had a bad feeling this week that somebody pretty good was going to magically hit the IR, kind of hit people out of left field and Chase returned on Sunday to the game, nobody was thinking a month a half off

Thanks

He may be thinking about Bo and how it ended his career. I haven't looked into the Chase injury, but if it's a labral issue, they can be tricky at times.

Just general knowledge of joints. I AM NOT A DOCTOR and wasn't being definitive about anything other than to say, in a general sense, hips can be very tricky. I remember Bo, too. It's probably best you get on Twitter and find a fantasy doctor willing to speculate, because anyone outside of Chase and his doctors doesn't know the full story. You'll be getting speculation everywhere.

Bengals now in hunt for OBJ
I doubt the Bengals do anything, especially for Beckham, as his timeline isn't likely any better than Chase's. Probably just even out a little bit more in the pass/run ratio, and increase the target shares of Higgins/Boyd/Hurst.

Brandin Cooks enters the chat
Highly doubt that.

If they make a move for any WR, it'd be somebody cheap like Agholor or something, and even then, its only if they get much worse news about Chase than the 4-6 week timeline.

Yeah, I was just looking into his contract and probably too rich for Cincy.

Breaking: Ja’Marr Chase is NOT going on IR, a source tells
@theScore
. Injury specifics: I’m told the #Bengals’ All-Pro WR sustained a hairline hip fracture and torn labrum.

a bit confused by this, those injuries sound like they're not a overnight kind of thing so why not put him on IR?

Doesn't make any sense.

The hairline fracture I could see healing in a few weeks. Only way the labrum isn't season ending is if it's a partial tear and with rehab he'd be ok for now, but maybe offseason surgery.

Everything I've read on that is that it takes at least four to six weeks for the labrum to reattach itself to the rim of the bone, and probably another four to six weeks to get strong. Once the labrum has healed to the rim of the bone, it should see stress very gradually so that it can gather strength.

Apparently, the new IR rule is only 8 players can go on IR and come back in the same season. Chase might put them over the limit as they already have 5 and they're not halfway through the season yet.

I’m hearing 6 weeks is optimistic. They need to plan for him being out for season.
maybe, just maybe your heard wrong, look at when bo jackson had this, or ryan fitzpatrick...these injuries are like hamstrings in that there are different levels of severity. chase finished the game, then played again and dominated a few days later, Bo and Ryan..couldn't even stand up...it's an injury, but this clearly tells us it's not of the worst variety. Surgery in the offseason to repair the tear, absolutely..but this is an ibuprofen type pain management thing...Sounds like he will be back after their bye... I'm buying cheap....

Any Chase owners trying to move or successfully moved?

Feel like the no IR news could be an opportunity to sell.

Looking at FBGs ROS value data, looks like Chase went from high 20s value to 15. This is in N. Harris, DJ Moore territory. Ugh.

Now imagine having Chase AND Breece Hall.

Now imagine Chase, Breece, Ezekiel Elliott, DK Metcalf, Allen Lazard, and Davante this week and have to field a lineup with them not on it.

Back to Chase: I'm just hoping his career is the same again. Hips as joints are very difficult. I think it's called one of the body's ball and socket joints. It's no good if it's dislocating. That's forever stuff.

Holy crap!!! And here I thought I had it bad. I put some serious thought into rage quitting after I lost chase, but didn't. If I would have had your s*** luck, I would have quit. Wow.

My condolences, rock.

Chase, Deebo, Davante, Nico Collins, Hardman on bye. I have to go to the WW to find a second WR to start, and that’s if Adams (Q) can go. Oh and Javonte Williams on IR too

The way he went down in the game? I didn’t like it all. I wondered if he even could make it back on the field after. Not surprised by this after having had seen it— but it’s still devastating to the Bengals, the young man’s career, and our fantasy lineups.

One thing I would be worried about is Cinci is notoriously unreliable about information on injuries. AJG was supposed to only miss a few games but then sat out nearly the whole year before finally going on IR in late 2019. The next year Mixon got hurt and what was initially was reported to miss maybe 3 games turned into him missing the rest of the season.

Is anyone trading for him in redraft? I suspect he is probably done for the season, but I'm in first place, stacked with depth on my bench that could help a few teams right now with one of them being the Chase owner. I don't want to give a ton, but I also can't help but think if he comes back it could seal a championship.

I'd be curious what you'd offer. I have Chase on a losing team and may look to cut bait. Would want a starter in return though.

Chase is a guy, if healthy, he puts you over the top.

I was thinking either DaVonta Smith or George Pickens.

If they say he's avoiding IR, why is he done for the season???

Just seems like a very serious injury that would take a normal person months to recover from. I'm not saying he is done for the season, but it wouldn't surprise me if he is.

Hes gonna be back after the bye. I would laugh at you if tried to trade devonta for chase.

Both are terrible offers no offense. Probably wouldn’t take both for Chase.

I own him but my team is 11-5 (I play doubleheaders) so I know I will make the playoffs so I can wait it out. I would rather take the risk that Chase misses the rest of the season (which the probability is greater than zero) than to trade him for a lesser player. Trading him would almost assure me that I make the playoffs with very little chance of winning it all.

But if the Chase owner is 3-5 and needs to win now, sure throw out an offer, but if I was in that spot, that player would have to be a decent starter for my team.

Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is still walking with crutches and has no timeline for his return yet.

Zac Taylor said that "everything has been good" so far, but it doesn't look like Chase is any closer to returning at this point. We would be surprised if the superstar wideout didn't miss a third-straight game. Tyler Boyd and Hayden Hurst should remain fantasy relevant against the Steelers in Week 11.

The team believes he will return for the Bengals' stretch run, but he isn't ready yet.

Chase stayed in Cincinnati during the bye week to get treatment from team doctors. He's still using crutches, but it's for precautionary purposes to help with the healing. He was walking around the locker room on Monday without any assistance.

Mostly just for precaution.

The owner is 4-6 in my redraft league and just lost Kupp. They lose this week and it's over. I am thinking of lobbing a low ball offer their way.
