WR Ja'Marr Chase, CIN (1 Viewer)

Separated shoulder and AC joint is the same thing. Had it happen to me last night, it's quite debilitating. Sucks, hope he has a shot to play in 2 weeks but I'm counting him out for the rest of the fantasy season.

Separated shoulder and AC joint is the same thing.

Your shoulder can also separate at the rotator cuff. That's when it comes in and out of its socket. That's why I was clarifying. The technical term for the rotator cuff is shoulder dislocation, I guess.

So that's probably the difference.

Dr Jesse Morse from Fantasy Doctors with a good explain

Separated shoulder and AC joint sprain are the same in layman's terms

Dislocated shoulder is different animal

Grade 1 AC sprain - painful but guys usually play through them
Grade 2 AC sprain - could be problematic, won't be able to play for several weeks
Grade 3 AC - ligaments have separated from the joint; think Anthony Richardson, season ending

there's an outside chance it was a type 1 and they were erring on the side of caution

more likely scenario is it's a type 2 and for FF playoff purposes he's done

MRI today will confirm one way or another

I lost Burrow earlier
also Pacheco

will advance to the Semi-finals thanks to my Detroit trifecta (Goff-LaPorta-Gibbs) but this is probably the end of the line for me

Hoping for the best. Terrible luck this year for the Bengals.

I hope for the fantasy community sake he gets the best news possible. Thankfully, in the leagues I have him I'm just in the consolation bowl, but one of them awards the 1.13 if you win it.

I have Burrow, Chase, Moss, Olave & Pacheco

Will come out of this weekend with a dub but probably not happening for me this year

PLAYER INSIGHTS
By video, suffered right shoulder AC joint sprain on a catch mid-way through the 4th quarter - in locker room and unlikely to return to game - chance to play in W16 with pain-numbing injection

I'm typing (not playing professional football) as we speak with a separated AC joint from a car crash that happened years ago (considering that football tackles are the equivalent and often referred to as car crashes, it's not too far off—it's from impact at that joint). It's not something that necessarily requires surgery and has only caused me discomfort ever after the initial pain. Let's hope against hope that Ja'Marr has woken up in less pain and that playing does not risk further injury to the joint now that it is separated.

Let's see how the week goes before kicking dirt on his chances of playing Saturday. I doubt he will from the sounds of it, but you never know. Willis Reed, anybody?

Fingers crossed by I ain’t holdin my breath.

Probably true. I roster him in the league I got a bye in (dynasty IDP). I'm going to have to decide on my lineup by Thursday because I have a couple of Saints I can play instead of Chase. I don't want to, but I might have to do that also because I roster Nico Collins.

Ugh. Talk about a rough stretch and a bad time for injuries. I don't much like my chances this week.

Not to make this a "who should I start" type of thing, but I'm kinda hoping he is out, cuz I'd hate to play him and keep a hot David Njoku benched. Would rather just know Chase is out and play Njoku.

Yeah, I have him in 1 league where I’m in the playoffs. If Nico Collins is good to go I’ll probably roll with Nico.

Otherwise I’m planning on Hutchinson/LaPorta - sadly it’s not TE-P. I just happened to draft 2 good TEs.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Ja’Marr Chase (shoulder) could miss Week 16 and Week 17.

Rapoport said it’s “conceivable” Chase could miss Week 17, but would certainly be sidelined this week against the Steelers. Chase, per Rapoport, would likely be available if the Bengals sneak into the postseason. Until then, Tee Higgins will function as the team’s No. 1 receiver and Tyler Boyd will probably see a bump in targets from Jake Browning. Higgins had 61 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Vikings with Chase on the sideline.

Ruled out.

I wish they would rule him out so I could put him on IR and make a move
This remains my single biggest irritant in FF. Everyone knows a guy isn't playing but we have to wait for teams to get around to making official what has known for days. Meanwhile players are getting scooped up while we have to wait for a roster spot to open.

Officially questionable for Week 17. HC said "we'll see" when asked if he was playing. Limited in practice but appeared to be running full speed during Red Zone drills.

Quote from Chase in that article:

“It’s going to come down to tolerating pain from a hit, for real. If anything, that will be the biggest test. You can’t test that pregame. You’ll hurt yourself before you play. We’ll find out.”

Quite from fantasy owners in championships everywhere:

"You can test that pregame. Please test it pregame."

He's a 4:25 start Eastern time.

For me -- and this is just for me -- I don't have anybody after and have one dollar left for transactions.

There's nobody that even comes close to the guys on my bench, who all start at one o'clock (besides Iosivas.) I guess I could get Irwin, but that dollar is tight and might go to my defensive line. I don't see Irwin even beginning to replace Shaheed or D. Robinson of the Rams, who are waiting in Ja'Marr's place.

This is tough on the decision-making front. I'm projected about equal with my opponent. Tough tough tough decision here.

Same boat here. The late start is a killer. I lost Waddle too FML. Need two and a all aside from Osborn are playing at 1. Options are not good Robinson, Thielen, Parker Washington.

Going Robinson and hoping for lighting in a bottle with last few games.

Just can't afford a zero and Chase takes one solid hit and could be done

It’s either start London at one or start Chase at 4 and have Osborn at 8 if Chase sits. I’m going with Chase and hope he gets anything.
