2023 FBG Subscriber Contest (3 Viewers)

Thanks @Contest Turk and thanks y'all for the feedback. Looks as tough as ever.

We tried pretty hard to get the bye weeks included and we will next year. I know that makes it more fun for people. I know too that some love not having them on there as it makes it more difficult but I'm not a fan of that kind of obstacle. But for this year, no bye weeks.

@Contest Turk came through with the bye weeks! Nice.

booooo

I can't wait to put together a lineup that stinks. At least I will have fun losing.

When I pull up the contest page, it says coming soon. How are you guys putting lineups together?

So I checked out avg scores of the team I picked. 150.2 that's not going to do the trick. Back to the drawing board.

RB - Rhamondre Stevenson - NE/11 - $27

RB - Samaje Perine - DEN/9 - $16

Feeling like a Studs kind of line up without much depth and hope I get lucky with injuries.

Second lineup? I did two lineups just while you were reading this

I am not seeing it on the mobile. Is there a certain subscription you need to qualify? I have the $47/year plan.

I really wanted Anthony Richardson on my team but I feel like he's priced higher than the general market has him rated. So, good pricing job on that. I'll probably get him on there still, but it's not as much of a shoe in as I expected.

Well, if you go to the Footballguy.com page on your computer and look for this year's contests, they are NOT there yet either. I think the contest at the moment is only accessible through the link that the Contest Turk posted here in the forum. You can get there on your phone by browsing to this forum and clicking on the link. I'm really surpised that they have not put a link up on the regular page yet. If they want participation in the contest, they need to open the gate and let everyone in.

Here's the link: https://www.footballguys.com/contests/contest/EntryForm.php

Just FYI.... @Joe Bryant , @Contest Turk

Do you realize that even though we can get to the subscriber contest through the link in this forum, and also through the link in Joe Bryant's email yesterday, the contest link still does not show up on the Contest page on Footballguys.com?

It still says "2023 Contests coming soon". You probably want to get that fixed and open the gates to people who are not reading this forum.

Any reason why Adam Trautman isn't an option for TE? Seems like he may leapfrog Greg Dulcich for the starting role.

Yes. It's on the list of tasks to get done today.

Take your time. I'm good with it this way for another couple of weeks. Increases my odds of making it past week 9

I've always been a stud TE guy for the contest, but I can't seem to squeeze the top guys into a roster I like this year, so I may have to shift to a different strategy. I'm also looking at ditching my standard "3 $3 kicker" mantra because I can't find enough $3 guys that I'm comfortable believing will still have jobs come November.

Did you mean Anthony "Richardson"?
Yes, phone must've auto-co-wrekted it

I agree with you that Richardson is both over-hyped and over-priced. He was a huge turnover risk at Florida and I would say a mediocre college QB at best (and I'm a Florida fan). I understand that his physical size and his running ability give him a decent upside, but he is very raw as an NFL prospect. So call me skeptical that he actually ends up being worth his cap price in the contest this year.

Kind of where I'm at, still tinker daily but mostly the K's at this point barring any injury before Lock. I wanted to go all $3 kickers, but like already mentioned earlier in the thread - I don't trust many of those to keep their jobs all season, so went with a bit more solidity there.

QB - Jared Goff - DET/9 - $14

I am considering going with 2 defenses and bumping down on a receiver so I can add another cheap flier receiver.

Not advisable IMO. I think you'll post more points with an extra defense than a cheap flier. Often what separates people in the money slots is a 9 point strip sack or 8 point pick six.

My first stab.... Only 275 more to go. LOL

Last year I got eliminated in Week 10 with a 22 team roster. Early this season I was gravitating towards going with some big names and then filling out with low-cost fliers, but that kept ending up with teams of only 18 or 19 players. Here's my first attempt to make a 28 player roster. Week 13 bye is going to be a rough week for everyone I'm guessing.

QB - Kirk Cousins - MIN/13 - $17

Which teams have the MOST UNCERTAINTY wrt distribution of carries?

SEA, CHI, ATL

Agree or disagree?
Most of what I've read says Khalil Herbert is pretty clearly the lead back. Obviously Justin Fields will have carries, but seems clearer than others. I would add PHI in there. Lots of mouths to feed there, not convinced Swift will be the clear leading back.

The survival rate data during the qualifying period is as you would expect, but how does it compare to the finals data? Has there ever been a year where a 27-28 roster size won or placed in the top 10?

Also I suspect the survival rate for a smaller roster size where all players stayed healthy is likely much higher than the survival rate for the field.

The top teams were those that nailed their studs rather than having a deep roster.

Yes that was my recollection as well. It would be interesting to see the survival rates for roster sizes where all players stayed healthy and played in all their games. My guess is the results would flip.
