2024-25 NBA Thread: Finals return after 3-month hiatus (148 Viewers)

The spot that Miami would've been in had they tanked vs ATL in the play-in.

Ouch.

More tough luck:

The Mavericks won the 2025 NBA Draft lottery with the ping pong ball combination of 10-14-11-7.
- The Blazers would have won if the last ball had been 6.
- The Wizards would have won if the last ball had been 1.

Found an even worse close call.

Bulls lost the coin toss with the Mavs in the lottery order.

Mavs - #1 pick
Bulls - #12 pick

Not a conspiracy guy but I think that pick was going to Dallas i.e. Vegas no matter what.
I mean replacing Luka with Cooper is pretty much exactly what all these tariffs are supposed to do, right?
it's amazing how quickly the internet circulates jokes now. i've seen this same comment in 3 places within the last 10 minutes.

These playoffs have been wild. There isn't a dominate team and the amount of injuries to the star players. I can't remember a year like this.

Welp, it was a run. Hate end it on a low note by playing so poorly and possible horrible injury to Tatum, but they got a championship out of it. Just was hoping for the back to back and was set up well all season for it.

I'd like to see a futures graph on OKC and Minnie bets just now, really all in the West. Were any books taking action during gametime of the playoffs?

Self professed Tatum hater here but that's really unfortunate if it's his achilles. Never want to see that happen to a young star especially in the playoffs.
On the positive side, really hoping this leads to a Knicks v. Pacers series. So much history there

Wish this board had a Knicks' fan. Weird that it doesn't.

I kind of adopted the Knicks when I moved to NYC in 99 just because I enjoyed the games at MSG so much. That was a fun playoff run with Sprewell and Co. but always a Rockets fan first and foremost. When I moved back to Houston many years later stopped rooting for em.

man i think tatum tot moved up to 12th all time in playoff threes but cheezeus crispus he trails labroni by 194 klay by 215 and and steph by 364 i dont know who is going to ever beat stephs record that is just crazy and he isnt done take that to the bank bromigos

I'm a Knicks fan. Thought their ceiling was the first round win. Not going to believe they will move on until they do. Even with the Tatum injury it wouldn't surprise me for the Knicks to get run out the building three straight games.

I have been a Knicks fan since the 80s
ok cool look guys i called this time out because we are going to need you two to really step it up here for game 5 you may be role players normally but for this game we ride of die with you so get to posting and the hotter the takes the better take that to the bank brochachos

That's cureent teammate Joe Ingles.

serious question bromigos assuming they lose this series tatum tot is probably out for the rest of this year and most of next hodor horford is getting long in the tooth and probably doesn’t have many years left is a key piece brown has not seemed like the brown of last year this year so is this sort of the end of the celtics run or what take that to the bank brohans

I'm a Knicks fan but stay mostly quiet in here.

I did not think they had a shot to win more than one game this series - but it's been fun to watch them battle and keep fighting. I know people in here seem to hate Jalen Brunson but love watching him play - love the whole Nova crew, despite attending a rival Big East school.

They are still a playoff team no matter what so even if Tatum is back next April, Boston will a playoff contender imo. Just spitballing the timeline, but if he misses 70 games, ramps up for 12, you probably don't want to face a 5 seed Boston.

BOS is going to have to trim $60M in payroll to get under the second apron. That will likely mean they will have to move either: KP and Holiday . . . or Brown. Tatum could miss the entire season. Would a lineup of Brown-White-Hauser-Pritchard-Horford be all that intimidating with a bench of Kornet-Queta-Scheierman? They would probably get a couple of functional pieces back in trades, but that lineup to me seems pretty thin. They would have a really small and suspect front court.

Definitely not. Could they hold down the fort and be a 5-7 seed in the east? Yes. If Tatum can't even play the playoffs a year from now, obviously that team is going nowhere.
