For those following along, our 5 group entries have made it to week 3. Each one has it bumps and bruises, but all-in-all, they seem like strong teams.
18-20 player roster - Mahomes needs to up his game, because Caleb has been atrocious. Shifting from Walker to Jacobs was lucky, and we're happy to be riding the Dobbins bus. So far, pivoting from Shakir to Coleman isn't looking good. Our last minute swapout from Njoku to Bowers was excellent.
21-23 player roster - This squad looks iffy with the loss of Pacheco. The only other RB in double figures to start the year is Dobbins. $19 dead money on Higgins thus far, and $3 Parkinson as your highest scoring TE is not great. Losing Gano doesn't hurt as bad with 2 more kickers.
24-27 player roster - Scored decent in week 2 (165) despite the loss of Walker and Ferguson. Who needs Goff when you have Daniels? This squad knew Higgins would miss time to start the year, and rostered the only NFL player ever named Andrei or Iosivas.
28-30 player roster - When you shop from the bargain bin, you expect a handful of duds, but finding deals is why you go there. Through the first 2 weeks, this team has used more players $10 and under vs over. Averaging 171.25 through the first 2 weeks.
Most common roster - This team's goal was to be the most common it could be. At QB, they chose #4 and #5. At RB, they ended up with #'s 1, 3, 6, 9, 14, 18, and 22. At WR it's #'s 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 16, and 22. For TE they have #'s 1, 2, and 3. At K they chose #'s 3, 10, and 15. And at D, they opted for #'s 1 and 7.

Were your numbers above for beginning of season or are they being updated as the contest progresses? Is there a tool that should current ownership by postion?

Yeah, the numbers were from the start. I would have to do weekly updates by hand, and that takes forever. The contest analyzer keeps track of each player, but once again, you would have to do each player by hand. There are computer geniuses who keep track of current ownership, but I will let them reveal themselves if they choose.

I have always been burned at tight end - killer me in the finals one year when I had an amazing roster with horrible tight ends. The only position group I thought was filled with bargains this year were tight ends so I grabbed quantity that I also thought were high quality:

I thought TE was the most difficult to project for the contest this season. And unless you selected Kittle, McBride, or Bowers is anyone feeling really great at the moment? Only 8 TE have scored a TD across the first two weeks including 2 Saints TE's but of course not Taysom.

Obviously its early, but so far I've got $69 unused.
QB - Used both Goff and Stafford so far
RB - Blake Corum ($11) and Trey Sermon ($3) - No worries here, these are high-value handcuffs that are dice-rolls to pay off big later in the year. My concern is that other than Bijan Robinson (and KWIII, injured), my other RB scores have been really low, from Javonte Williams and Gus Edwards, neither of whom have done much, so I may need Corum to start contributing sooner rather than later.
WR - Courtland Sutton ($13) and Rome Odunze ($11) - Really thought Courtland Sutton would be a PPR hog, and definitely bought into the hype on Odunze. Still time for Caleb Williams to figure it out, but definitely tempering expectation on both Denver and Chicago offenses.
TE - Evan Engram ($20) and Taysom Hill ($8) - Engram is definitely my biggest miss so far. I legitimately thought with Calvin Ridley leaving that Engram could be TE1 in this contest with the volume that I thought he would absorb. I don't regret Hill, still think he'll have a couple of big weeks later in the season.
K - Used both Reichard and Bates
Def - ATL ($3), Chargers have provided both scores so far.

You're doing it wrong. Brew a cup (or pot) of your favorite coffee, on the strong side. Pour a nice big mug, leaving room for a very smooth brandy topper. Stir and enjoy. My favorite brandy is Christian Brothers VS. Those monks know what they're doing.
