Oy. Where are you located? I'm at work in Madison NJ at the moment...looks breezy out, but nothing falling. IF we lose power again after just getting it back, I'm packing up and heading down to my parent's house in VA for the weekend.Edited @ 12:45 EST to add - It's dumping here now. Great. And it is f-ing snowing.Damn Celt - hang in there
Thoughts and prayers to all of you dealing with this. Those that have no power, i hope you can find somewhere to go that is warm. NYcelt - wishing the best for you. I hope you catch a break at some point here man.

That requires gas. I got too low to wait in a gas line, so going to have to fill up a couple cans. Would prefer not to wait online outside while it is windy and snowing. Still no power and I can tell the inlaws are starting to get sick of me. At east it's supposed to be a warmer weekend. I can tough out lows in the 40's, but low's in the 20's a little much. Heard I may have power by Thanksgiving, but that was before the storm.Only time I've seen Red Cross or National Guard was when I voted yesterday. Good thing Murray and Mangano weren't on the ballot. They've been non-existant during the whole thing.you guys be safe and if you can not get heat get somewhere south where you can take care brohans
And it is f-ing snowing.

Got a friend who could let you siphon just enough of theirs to wait in line? Or drive into Jersey to fill up? I have to imagine it's getting easier and easier to get gas in the north and west burbs as everything comes back online. That requires gas. I have a couple cans that I will fill up when I need to. We got 3 inches of snow since I posted this. Will wait until tomorrow or Friday to fill up when the temperature is supposed to be closer to 50 or so.Got a friend who could let you siphon just enough of theirs to wait in line? Well we have been holed up here at my parents apt here and the power is out. Bye bye. Get me a gun and point me in the right direction. I am ready to snap. Big time. Rumor is power won't be back at my home for two weeks.

I'm sure you already posted this but are you working? If you have kids are they in school?'NYCelt said:Well we have been holed up here at my parents apt here and the power is out. Bye bye. Can't believe you guys are getting another storm. Good luck all. Stay positive and as warm as possible.I honestly don't understand it. Had tremendous patience through the weekend but at this point there's no excuse. Just a disaster and must blame all levels especially and including County and State leadership. Why are a majority of gas stations still without gas? The trucks should be rolling in 24/7 so people still don't have to wait hours to get gas.

Two out of the three stations nearest me have only had gas one day since the storm that I've seen. Anyone read any stories as to why the fuel isn't coming in more? Bad enough for people that need to fill up cars but some people can't fill up their generators still. wtf! Gotta stand in line in the snow to fill up a bucket so you have a couple of gallons.I honestly don't understand it. Had tremendous patience through the weekend but at this point there's no excuse. NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - For those trying to cross the East River, there is good news. A source told WCBS 880 that the Queens-Midtown Tunnel will reopen Friday. The source said that Gov. Andrew Cuomo will make the announcement Thursday afternoon. The tunnel, which is operated by the MTA, has been closed since it was flooded during superstorm Sandy.
Not acceptable. (not you I mean...thx!) That article is from last Saturday and says: However, he estimated near-full restoration of gas distribution by the end of the weekend as power is restored to more areas across the state. It also talks about easing restrictions on interstate deliveries by Christie. They should be eliminated totally until this crisis is healed. Get the trucks on the road from other states. The problem is still power — or lack of it — not only for the state’s big distribution centers in Linden, Perth Amboy, Carteret, Sewaren and Elizabeth, but for the nearly 2,400 service stations throughout New Jersey."It’s not going to do any good if the pipeline is operational but the distribution centers are not," Risalvalto said.http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/11/as_nj_gas_shortage_rolls_on_la.html
It cant be only power. Two gas stations by me had power the day after the storm. There were LONG lines of people waiting for gas. Theyve been closed ever since. Definitely not a power issue with them.

Bolded the part you are missing. The problem is further up the chain, if they cannot properly distribute the gas from the distribution centers local to NJ then there will be a delay trying to get shipments from distribution centers located further away.It cant be only power. My company here in Pittsburgh has trucked thousands of gallons across state for many of those stations affected. Many other companies around here and in other parts have been doing the same. It's not been fun, logistically speaking...Bolded the part you are missing.
