What's Wrong with Wind and Solar?

Are wind, solar, and batteries the magical solutions to all our energy needs? Or do they come with too high a price? Mark Mills, Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, analyzes the true cost — both economic and environmental — of so-called green energy.

Crenshaw's position on renewable energy can't be broken down into one sound bite. It's a complex topic. His concerns are considered mainstream concerns within the industry itself. He has a military command background, and as such, he's looking at the entire logistical chain to solar ( as well as wind) energy against the projected rate of return.
Here's where Crenshaw has value to the RNC in 2024
1) He IMMEDIATELY can lock in Trump's core base. That means even today and that will still be true in 2024. It's unlikely Haley, Pence, Cruz, Carlson and the like can do that.
2) He is NOT aligned with Trump as directly as Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, etc, etc. Meaning moderates and undecideds can't be weaponized against the RNC using basic Orange Man bad themes
3) He offers a nice counter balance to Nikki Haley on the same ticket, and it could be fairly argued that Haley couldn't win the 2024 election for POTUS. That being said, a Haley/Crenshaw or a Crenshaw/Haley ticket will look more palatable to many people compared to the Biden/Harris/AOC/Newsom roster that will likely represent the DNC.
4) In the modern woke/cancel culture, like Haley, he's very difficult to "cancel". He's boring and plain in nature, that doesn't help, but it's a more moderate Republican compared to Trump's attacking/trolling/controversial style. Someone boring is exactly the right kind of fit after a run of Trump and Biden/Harris.
5) Wesley Hunt is just not ready. The RNC would probably prefer Hunt but at this stage, he's about 6 years away.
Crenshaw is not flawless. He falls back on his military service far too often as a political narrative. He's gotta being other things to the table. He's not as savvy with social media as he should be given his situation ( He's not from political legacy/big old money) He lacks any kind of real charisma at all. He's not that great of a public speaker. He's intelligent and appears reasonable and reliable.
Success in politics often comes down to timing. Crenshaw is at the "right time" given his situation/disposition.
The criticism of Crenshaw are relatively tame in context. Trump has decades of scandal before POTUS. Biden took Burisma money and authored the Crime Bill and has said unfavorable things about gays and blacks. Newsom took PG&E money after they killed citizens of CA he was supposed to protect. Harris punished young black men as AG, slept her way up in politics and couldn't get her own parties ticket herself. AOC is pushing for GND, which is exponentially more costly than anything ever conceived in human history.
Boring works.
