**Wildcard MNF - Vikings at Rams** (+1.5, 47) 8:15 on ABC (1 Viewer)

Basically a pick em.....I'll take the Rams cuz they are at home, and I'll take Staff over Darnold, who I think came back down to earth Sunday night.

There's just something about The Rams
Throw the numbers and analytics out the window
A gut feeling...

Los Angeles Rams- 27
Minnesota Vikings- 23

Turn-around for Darnold and the Vikes... come in and play angry/focused... MIN 38, LAR 28

I expect the Vikings to be pissed off after last night. No chance they throw out two stinkers in a row. Fully expect them to win by double digits.
Let me check the record books.......looking back a few weeks. Yep that's right.....loss to Detroit followed the next week by a loss to (who wat that again).....oh yeah......the Rams. It's deja vu all over again.

I think the Vikings are cooked. They looked like they put everything they had into that game last night and ran out of gas by the 4th quarter.

I’ve got no dog in this fight. I’m a Packer fan. 🤷‍♂️

But yeah, I still expect a curb stomping.

I don't see anyway they play this game in LA.. It would absolutely crazy if they did with people houses being destroyed and them being evacuated just miles from the stadium. I think the Hollywood Hills fire is now only like 20 minutes from SoFi

Any chance the wildfires cause the game to be moved?
Purely in the interests of safety, they should move the game to Minneapolis. Not as big of a home crowd advantage for the Vikings but sacrifices should be made. For safety.
They would move it to Las Vegas or Arizona.. FFS, They wouldn't just give the LAR a road advantage cause of the fires. They would move it to an area closer to California.

This game is the one I am interested in most this weekend. Rams rested and at home. Darnold coming off his worst performance of the season on a big stage. Both coaches are upper tier regarding game plans and play design. Hoping for a great game.

Hollywood hills is never 20 minutes from Sofi unless you take a helicopter. Everything happening in LA is north of Sofi by at least 20 miles so the major concern is air quality which likely wont be better by Monday. Wish they could keep the game in LA but given the air quality they likely need to move it.

Ah, I see. So move it from a neutral location to a different neutral location.

Vegas is the closest option. Drive time to San Jose and and Glendale, AZ is about the same at a little over 5 hours. Too bad Snapdragon Stadium (SDSU) only holds 35K although at that low number, you may not have one viking fan in the stadium.

My point is it's not very far from the stadium and I will sat it right now... F&$K this game, especially when it comes to something like his.

How will this affect things from a football standpoint?

Obviously it should help the Vikings if anything, I see the spread jumped up 1 point.

Crowd shouldn't change too much as LA is often neutral-ish anyways, but traveling can't be ideal for the Rams.

Rams used to open air, Vikes used to domes... the least they could do is open the roof for the game.

I said it up thread. But a lot of snowbirds from Minnesota spend their winters in Arizona. Previous cardinals games even have been pretty purple.

Seeing as LA fans have a hard enough time at their own stadium… I wouldn’t be surprised to see this be a very Viking filled fan stadium.

Ya, that's not ideal for the Rams.

Hope they at least open the roof, that would help the rams a bit especially if it's more vikings fans there.

I thought SoFi stadium was indoors. But a glass ceiling like the Vikings have.
Ya I just spent some time trying to figure that out lol

Seems like its got a roof that isn't attached to the walls so some air comes in

I couldn't venture to guess what the crowd composition will look like. How many Rams fans give a crap about a football game when their neighborhood is on fire.

It's a home game for the Rams. They have 70,000+ season ticket holders. They get first dibs on tickets for the rescheduled game. State Farm Stadium has a capacity of about 63,000. Tickets will be available only to Rams season ticket holders for 2 hours, after which, any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public. Unless there are Rams fans that don't want to make the trek to the game and want to extort Vikings fans for an arm and a leg, I don't see there being many Minnesota fans getting access to tickets. You have to be a legit fan to buy season tickets . . . I don't see many people just saying OH WELL and declining to grab them. Even if they don't go, I am sure there are no shortage of people they could resell them to (as Rams fans).

Probably more reason to get out of town. They can't stay where they are if it's not safe.

I had a hell of a time getting rid of my Eagles/Packers tickets. Kind of disappointed in Packer fans TBH.

This Vikings fan is going to try to go. Anybody know where to find tickets?

To be fair, they didn’t seem to show up regularly when their neighborhoods weren’t on fire.

Still - gotta think this is an advantage for the Vikings, crowd-wise.

Or it’ll be some major motivator for the Rams.

Game got moved due to the smoke / fires.

Will be played in AZ at State Farm Stadium
For some reason it feels like it should benefit the Vikings although I have nothing to support that statement
The mental impact of thinking you are hosting a Playoff game to having to pack your bags and go on the road vs the Vikings already had their bags packed

Yeah, I just posted that as you were typing this.

Could see it swing either way, but neutral site is usually advantage away team.

Wouldn’t it be alot easier for local eagles fans to buy your tickets and go to the game?

At a neutral site, aren't both teams "away teams"?

Yes, that’s my point.

Instead of a home (advantage) and away (disadvantage) you have 2 away teams.

Thus the rams are losing homefield advantage.

I can see the post now: “local Eagles fans, looking for a good time? Call (xxx) xxx-xxxx - feathers & cheese play mandatory. No kink shaming.”

In terms of impact to the Rams it's not ideal but I think the game preparation issues are a bigger issue then playing in Arizona.

Just a PIA dealing with your own homes/family, practice schedules likely altered with some practices taking place in Arizona and just the whole impact of practice in unfamiliar terrain-and I know a football field is a football field but getting used to new layout, training and rehab setup, whole process the support staff has to take to make a mid week change from staying home to preparing for travel. Really a massive PIA.

The Vikings simply have their support staff book a different hotel/flight.

I can also say this. As someone who has been to Eagles games in Philadelphia, there’s no way I’d go to a playoff game and root for someone other than the eagles. But that’s just me
