2024 FBG Subscriber Contest (1 Viewer)

So I score a couple alternates when I track my entry and dodged a big bullet - was looking at a shuffle to add Nabers to go with Tee Higgins (instead of either/or)....would have dropped Jameson Williams as part of that shuffle and out I would have gone

My first draft roster was unusually awful as well so perhaps I stopped tinkering just in time :oldunsure:

162.30 so happy with moving on. The Hurts-AJB-Smith connection was good, but wish I added Barkley. RB2 is definitely a problem as I had hope between Javonte and Swift that they would balance that out with KWIII. Needless to say... Swift was RB2 with 3.00 points this week. Brutal. I figure better weeks are ahead, but Week 5 will be the nemesis when the Eagles are on bye. Hopefully I can get there and beyond!

Wow! That was close. I had Likley as my third TE at one point and added a third D instead. That decision is gonna make me go out very soon imo.

Good luck in week 2!
I got that low score out of the way in week 1. Resting McCaffrey for the heavy lifting next weekend!

Same it would have been a disaster if I didn't switch to Jamo.

Your third quarterback will start maybe 3 games for you on average, and $9+ is a lot to pay for 3 starts.
Conversely, $9 would be considered money well spent if one of your 2 rostered QBs goes down in Week 2 or 3, and your remaining QB has a week 5 bye.
3 games is a guess at the average, which includes scenarios like that one along with other scenarios like the one where it's your QB3 who goes down for the season.

If you have 3 equally good QBs then on average each will start 5.7 games (that's 1/3 of the 17 games), so 3 games seems about right for the QB that you expect to be the worst of your 3.

TE production is worrisome based on one week.

I switched Kincaid INTO my lineup on the last day and after first week does not give me warm and fuzzies…by Kincaid and TE’s in general

Also took out Pitts and added Ferguson and one other change in order to get to Kincaid…

But it is the first week…

LOL no CMC and a dud from ARSB... and the rest of my scrub team and i too am out week 1... i thought it was near impossible to get eliminated week 1.
Been to finals 3 times but also had early exits. A few years ago I got tossed week 1 too. Stinks, it takes a perfect storm like you just mentioned.

Ruh Roh. We about to lose Bates? :(
I warned against him a month ago. He is this year's Rodrigo Blankenship!

I miss Blankie in this contest

I was worried it was an injury but apparently Detroit already had planned to have a kicker on the PS and Bates performed well in the game so off the ledge.

DET is just preparing for the yips. Bates isn't just wearing a short leash; it's a choke chain.

Also eliminated Week 1. Purdy and Cousins at QB and ARSB at WR. I was doomed.

Best of luck to everyone advancing.
Ugh. Just a perfect storm - guarantee those qbs won’t perform that poorly at the same time this season, and ARSB was as dependable on a per game basis as they come. That’s what makes this contest so awesome and cruel at the same time, lol.

I seem to recall when I first started playing we had a year or two where the cuts were based on a number of entries and not a percent. Back then, we may have no one cut in the first week

This is correct, we have only been doing percentage for a few years and prior to that for as long as the contest was going on it was a set number of entries each week. I like this format alot better...

For a second I thought this was someone's team, hahaha

Kincaid shows out tonight.
Allen should have another big day.

Would be wonderful to see Wright make some noise with Mostert out. Give that rook the rock!

Good lord my assessment of both Achane and James Cook couldn't have been more wrong. I get that this is probably the high water mark for Cook, but dayumm...

Down Higgins, Njoku and Ferguson this week. I've had an injury or two here and there over the past few seasons of this contest, but never had 3 in one week. Didn't expect the first time to occur in Week 2 either. My days are numbered.

Sad Tua owner, but probably would be just as sad if I were a Tyreek or Waddle owner.
I had a pretty large Miami stack at one point. Ending up swapping out Achane for Cook and replaced Jonnu Smith with Noah Fant. But I kept Waddle and Tua. When Tua was out in 2022 and Skyler started, Tyreek and Waddle had absolutely terrible stats. Going to be rough season for tyreek and waddle owners.

Honest feelings about my team heading into week 2

QB - Patrick Mahomes, Geno Smith
I didn't expect to be using Geno week 1. Neither QB did great and were QB11 and QB14. It's too early to panic, as I expect Mahomes to be atop the league in passing yardage.

RB - James Conner, Najee Harris, Brian Robinson, Jerome Ford, JK Dobbins, Justice Hill
A pretty nice week when the low is 8.4 points, and both flexes come from the RB's. A strong crew for only $68.

WR - CeeDee Lamb, Malik Nabers, Rashee Rice, Khalil Shakir, Jameson Williams
All were in double digits and in the top 32. Let's hope for health and more of the same.

TE - Jake Ferguson, George Kittle, Taysom Hill
Nice to see Taysom with 6 touches. Sucks to see Ferguson get hurt. Crazy as it seems, Kittle's 4 catches tied him for 4th. Likely was the only TE over 58 yards.

K - Cameron Dicker, Joshua Karty
Neither one missed, so that's a good thing.

D - Chargers, Falcons
LAC with a nice start. I would expect to be using them again in week 2 vs CAR.

I'm worried about Kindcaid!

After a dud week 1 performance, he put in another one on Thursday. You could excuse it due to game script, but he went from a 84% snap count in week 1 down to 42% against the Bengals?! That is the lowest snap count of his career. I will need a 20+ point game in week 3, or a stiff drink since he was the only 100% locked and loaded selection of my entire lineup.

I'm similarly worried about Nabers and Ridley. I thought concerns about their poor quarterback play was overblown. After week 1, I'm afraid everyone was right. I'm looking for Nabers to cook the Washington defense. If I get duds in week 2, my faith in these players is going to devolve into hope.

What players are you looking for a strong performance from to restore your pre-season faith?
