So my Super Bowl 6 only matches one team.

W1: Matched 5 QBs, my Hebert vs. his Jefferson.
W2: Burrow and Chase match
W3: Diggs, Maihommes, Kelce, Purdy, Kittle match. I have Cmac to his DeVonte Smith.
W4: All 6 match

It's quite possible some of you have matched all 6 in the Super Bowl and Championship week.

I feel sorry for anyone who turned off the Jaguars - Chargers game at halftime, and went to bed....

Un-freaking believable 2nd half! :towelwave:

@Contest Turk - how many different final 6 combinations were there?

Oh and it looks like the Seahawks are trying to blow up the contest already :lmao:

-QG

1833 distinct Super Bowl Sixes.

1544 entries have a unique Super Bowl Six.

This thing is going to play out very differently if the Super Bowl is KC/BUF/CIN vs SF/PHI compared to if it's not. I'll try to analyze the SB6s in terms of team composition later today or tomorrow.
Do you know how many teams picked a roster which could get points from every player (vs. rosters that are guaranteed to get at least one zero, e.g. because they have players from 3 teams in the Super Bowl)? That seems like a decent test of the number of competitive entries.

Might be interesting to track that number as the contest goes on. Not that the winner has to be zeroless; maybe there are some other variants worth tracking so that (e.g.) teams with 1 division round zero aren't treated as if they're eliminated.

Super Bowl players, by NFL team:

Code:
PHI 5987
SF 5708
BUF 5425
KC 5077
CIN 1672
DAL 256
MIN 199
TB 94
LAC 61
NYG 33
JAX 13
MIA 2
BAL 1
Almost all from the top 5 teams. I thought something like this might happen, given the rosters posted in this thread, which is why I went with 1 underdog in the Super Bowl.

I guess I'm one of 80ish teams with DAL in the Super Bowl, and one of 30ish with the KC-DAL matchup. I wonder if the other KC-DAL rosters are all different enough from mine so that my chances of winning the contest are close to my chances of hitting on my bracket (which is about 1%). The one team with the same Super Bowl 6 as me already has some problems.

omg how did the chargers choke that game away?!?

I have no jags/chargers after this week so not impacted but wow.

38 points from herbert/ekeler. dak/pollard/cousins/jefferson to go.

Here is a look at the number of entries who have N teams represented in their super bowl six.

Code:
1 85
2 3248
3 298
4 334
5 96
6 27

That is: 85 entries have all six of their super bowl players on a single NFL team. 3248 entries have all six from two NFL teams, and so on.

I meant to post my selections before the games started yesterday, but I went out to play golf and then watched the games, so...

Anyway, starting off well and have no zeros for the remaining weeks after yesterday's games.

There was an error on the previously-posted standings. Some players were getting zeroes who shouldn't have been getting zeroes (e.g. Brock Purdy). This has now been fixed.

Have you seen this guy who's currently in 1st place?
I have to say it never occurred to me to take 6 players from the same team for any round much less every round. I guess it could work.
It seems to me that there are going to be entries that correctly predict both SB teams. It also seems to me that unless it's a 35-0 game or something, the top scorers from the losing team are going to outscore the 4th, 5th and 6th scorers of the winning team. So, if youre going that route, you either need a blowout SB or you need to have a big point lead going into the SB.

Do you remember what team this was? I'm curious how far it fell and if it will be eliminated by the end of the day.
I looked couldn't find it. I think his score was in the 80s and I know he picked all players from the same team.
I'm sitting at 56.05 with 4 to go all QBs hoping it at least gets me in shouting distance of the teams with my Super Bowl picks. Right now the leader in my category is sitting at 119 with one player left. I might be able to make some ground up on him.

Have you checked to see if anyone has you matched in the championship round?

The fact that so people went the same direction says to me that this contest is a little to simple from the strategy standpoint for the fbg brand.

Just the possible Super Bowl matchups from this list:

601 KCSF
229 CINSF
156 CINPHI
30 BUFDAL
27 BUFMIN
22 DALKC
14 KCMIN
11 CINDAL

My guess is that CIN-MIN was picked 5-10 times, and all of the other matchups were picked less than that, and many are entirely absent.

So rosters which have just 1 Super Bowl team could be in great shape if there's a major upset in the other conference, with JAX, BAL, MIA, TB, or NYG making the Super Bowl. They also have a shot if there's a backup quarterback or a blowout.

I think what some people are missing is the sheer number of different possible player combinations, especially considering the timing, throughout the duration of the contest. Even if a lot of teams have the same Super Bowl players, it’s highly unlikely that any of them have the exact same players in the exact same weeks in the first 3 rounds. Maybe there should have been a tie-breaker question just in case.

The majority of the people posting here, it seems to me, apparently like the new format. Maybe I’m wrong but there seems to be a lot more interest in the subscriber playoff contest this year than in previous years, if that’s any indication. Correct me if I’m wrong…

I know that for myself, I enjoyed the exercise of considering different strategies and constructing my lineup this year, compared to the previous format.

These early rounds are very important, especially considering that there are in fact a decent number of identical Super Bowl entries.

Great points, and it may be closer than general speaking - in my specific SB team of 6 standings, I am leading but the #2 has literally the SAME players except for 1 difference in the first 2 rounds, round 3 will separate us as we have 2 different players between the 6 but its real weird I thought it was my entry at first.....

Only 48 teams with same SB as me but none of those have the same Champ round. I haven't checked Division.

Personally I like this format better even though I spent alot of time forming a team for the old format before I found out about the change.

Not that it matters much, but I'm calculating 31.75 for Kirk Cousins. The stats are 273 passing yards, 2 Passing TD, 1 rushing yard and 1 rushing TD.
13.65 + 12 + 0.10 + 6 = 31.75

It also reads 31.55 in the standings so I'm not sure what the discrepancy is. I checked NFL.com and those stats agree with stats on Yahoo.

Any thoughts on this ???

I know, right? What the hell was I thinking?!? Always had a soft spot for the Vikes, and I’ve been anti-Giants since I was a kid growing up in Brooklyn. Too much heart, not enough head.

good luck everyone.
