Music Draft - Rolling Stone Greatest 500 Songs Garbage List - Now with unhealthy regional pork-stuffs! (1 Viewer)

there go another gay pop classic.

Speaking of gay pop classics, I think you might appreciate that, after my mom read the names of all the movies to me on the plane, I gave her a few suggestions and she chose to watch "Paris Is Burning."  Since I hadn't seen it until 1990 or whenever it came out, I watched it again later too.  It is still every bit as good as it was originally.

I haven't researched it since seeing it in the theater. Just devastatingly good.

Thoughts on any clock now that it's the weekend?  Maybe a longer clock just to make sure it gets wrapped up, like the 2:27 one we had last weekend?  I'm open to what you guys want.

Huge thanks again to Yo Mama for keeping track of all the skips and who's OTC, etc.

I've listened to everything available to finish this up. There's one I might listen to again.
I listened to it a couple of days ago when it became apparent I was going to be left with it or the Kendrick Lamar record. I remembered didn't like the Lamar song at all, so I took this one while having completely forgotten about it.

It sounds like one of those records that was probably everywhere when it came out, except wherever I was.

@Doug B looks to be on skip - so that makes @Ramsay Hunt Experience up if he's around tonight
I must owe two, then?

I've heard Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Proud Mary" (152) more than enough for a lifetime, but it is a milestone rock record. I'll take it for my 18.19 pick. I like the song a lot, it's just not my favorite version these days.

For 19.07, gimme Patti Smith's cover (?) of "Gloria" (97). At least it's interesting and not trite.

Yeah, I like it better than Maps.  Sue me.

My last pick is already set in stone, so might as well finish up.

20.18 (#120) -- Oh Bondage! Up Yours! -- X-Ray Spex

It's an acquired taste, I suppose.  I like the energy.  Kind of a shaggy dog pick in this playlist, but I blame El Floppo.

18.23

#92 "Good Golly Miss Molly" - Little Richard
Someone mentioned it above, but it was odd how this group of records had so many unpicked this late in the draft.

Simey & Weasel sniped me coming down the stretch, but this ain't a bad consolation.

I believe it's called, in the parlance of the yutes, a "banger" (& with Richard, that's like a quadruple entendre)

Really?  I think it's fantastic.  I seriously considered it many rounds back, but it didn't seem like it would fit with the rest of mine.

Oh god bless you.  This was my very last Angry Red, and I'd felt sure someone would draft it but was starting to get worried.

Done.  No Angry Reds will infect my playlist.

I think I ended up playing this right. My last group to pick from has seven songs left -- all of which I actually can appreciate, though a few are overfamiliar.

Yeah, that's a ####### insane 18th rounder.

are we supposed to go ahead and take our 20th rd pick now?

The martinis did work so I may screw this up but I will start with

Round 18

298 Jungleland by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

Why is that an angry red for you?

I will be 20 for 20 on No Hesitation picks. I had one bloc get down to 1 left and another get down to 2 left, but I pulled it off. The last bloc has 7 songs left but all are No Hesitations for me.
